Phosphorescent Organic Light-Emitting Devices: Working Principle and Iridium Based Emitter Materials
TL;DR: The essentials of OLED technology is reviewed putting special focus on the general working principle of single and multilayer OLEDs, fluorescent and phosphorescent emitter materials as well as transfer processes in host materials doped with phosphorescent dyes.
Organoboron Quinolinolates with Extended Conjugated Chromophores: Synthesis, Structure, and Electronic and Electroluminescent Properties
Stefan Kappaun,Stephan Rentenberger,Alexander Pogantsch,Egbert Zojer,Kurt Mereiter,Gregor Trimmel,Robert Saf,Kai C. Möller,and Franz Stelzer,Christian Slugovc +9 more
TL;DR: In this article, the substitution of quinolinolate with phenyl, biphenyl, and 9,9-dihexylfluorenyl substituents was achieved by reacting 8-benzyloxy-5,7-dibromoquinoline with the corresponding boronic acid derivatives in a Suzuki-type cross-coupling reaction.

Stefan Kappaun,Stefan Sax,Sabrina Eder,Kai C. Möller,Kerstin Waich,Fabian Niedermair,Robert Saf,Kurt Mereiter,Josemon Jacob,Klaus Müllen,Emil List,Christian Slugovc +11 more
TL;DR: In this article, the synthesis, structure, and thermal, photophysical, and electroluminescent properties of bis(κ2(C2,N)-2-ppy)(κ2N,O)-q)iridium(III) are described.

WPLEDs prepared from main-chain fluorene–iridium(III) polymers
TL;DR: In this paper, a heteroleptic iridium(III) complex containing 5,7-dibromoquinolinolate as co-ligand has been used to prepare main-chain iridium polymers which produced white light emission when used as the active layer in polymeric light-emitting devices.

Organoiridium Quinolinolate Complexes: Synthesis, Structures, Thermal Stabilities and Photophysical Properties
TL;DR: In this paper, solid-state structures, thermal properties and photophysics of a series of heteroleptic iridium(III) complexes with phenylpyridine as the cyclometalating ligands and quinolinolates are reported.
