Ancillary Revenues in Air Transport – Gain and Pain
Stefan Fallert
- 01 Jan 2012
TL;DR: In this article, the flight from Los Angeles to Miami was scheduled for 08.00am and the night was short, I was extremely tired and not really “operational” when I arrived at the airport short before 06.00 am, aware that I was be going to be charged US$ 25.- for my checked baggage which I could not pay upfront while doing the online check-in, I had my credit card already handy when approaching the check in counter to drop off my suitcase.

User-Centered Engineering of an Interactive Land Use Exploration Tool
Karsten Rinke,Tracie Buhl,Daniele Marcomin,Stefan Fallert,Jörg Blechschmidt,Friedericke Bönisch,Reagan Mark,Juliano Sarmento Cabral,Sebastian von Mammen +8 more
TL;DR: In this article , a system for visualizing and predicting land-use data is presented, which aims to improve science communication by facilitating the understanding of landuse change and is backed up by a machine learning-based land use prediction application that imputes historic data and generates predictions of land use in the future.
metaRange: A framework to build mechanistic range models
Stefan Fallert,Lea Li,Juliano Sarmento Cabral +2 more
TL;DR: MetaRange is a framework to build mechanistic range models that simulate species dynamics under non-equilibrium conditions. It provides functions for niche-based suitability, metabolic scaling, population dynamics, biotic interactions, and dispersal. The framework is modular and supports high-resolution simulations on regular hardware.
The road to integrate climate change projections with regional land‐use–biodiversity models
Juliano Sarmento Cabral,Alma Mendoza-Ponce,Johannes Oberpriller,Anne Mimet,Julia Kieslinger,Thomas Berger,Alice Classen,Stefan Fallert,Florian Hartig,Christian Hof,Markus Hoffmann,Thomas Knoke,Andreas Krause,Anne Lewerentz,Perdita Pohle,Uta Raeder,Anja Rammig,Sarah Redlich,Sven Rubanschi,Wolfgang W. Weisser,Daniel Vedder,Peter H. Verburg,Damaris Zurell +22 more
TL;DR: In this paper , the authors focus on the indirect effects of climate change on biodiversity via its effects on land-use change as well as feedbacks into land use and climate, following direct and indirect pathways, such as indirect pathways from climate change into biodiversity change via climate-driven changes in land use.
