Petroleum potential and kinetic models for hydrocarbon generation from the Upper Cretaceous to Paleogene Latrobe Group coals and shales in the Gippsland Basin, Australia
Soumaya Abbassi,Dianne S. Edwards,Simon C. George,Herbert Volk,Nicolaj Mahlstedt,Rolando di Primio,Brian Horsfield +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, pyrolysis experiments (open and closed systems) and kinetic modelling of primary cracking of kerogen have been carried out to investigate hydrocarbon generation characteristics and source rock facies variability within the Upper Cretaceous to Paleogene Latrobe Group in the Gippsland Basin.

Generation characteristics of Mesozoic syn- and post-rift source rocks, Bonaparte Basin, Australia: New insights from compositional kinetic modelling
Soumaya Abbassi,Simon C. George,Dianne S. Edwards,Rolando di Primio,Brian Horsfield,Herbert Volk +5 more
TL;DR: In this paper, two representative immature source rock samples from the Jurassic to Lower Cretaceous (Plover, Laminaria, Frigate, Flamingo and Echuca Shoals) sequences were analysed to define the hydrocarbon products that analogous mature source rocks could have generated during thermal maturation and filled the petroleum reservoirs in the Laminaris High region.

On the filling and leakage of petroleum from traps in the Laminaria High region of the northern Bonaparte Basin, Australia
Soumaya Abbassi,Rolando di Primio,Brian Horsfield,Dianne S. Edwards,Herbert Volk,Zahie Anka,Simon C. George +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, a 3D petroleum system model of the northern Bonaparte Basin indicates that the potential Nancar Trough source kitchen could be currently expelling hydrocarbons from numerous Jurassic source rocks into traps on the Laminaria High.

Geochemical characterisation and predicted bulk chemical properties of petroleum generated from Jurassic and Cretaceous source rocks in the Vulcan Sub-basin, Bonaparte Basin, North West Shelf of Australia
Soumaya Abbassi,Brian Horsfield,Simon C. George,Dianne S. Edwards,Herbert Volk,Rolando di Primio +5 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a geochemical investigation was carried out on 61 core and cuttings samples from selected Mesozoic source rocks in the offshore Vulcan Sub-basin of the Bonaparte Basin, Australia.
