A simple highly versatile and efficient synthesis of 2,4,5-trisubstituted imidazoles is achieved by three component cyclocondensation of 1,2-dicarbonyl compounds, aldehydes and NH4OAc, as ammonia source using clays, zeolite, nano-crystalline sulfated zirconia (SZ) as catalyst in ethanol at moderate temperature Moreover, the utility of this protocol was further explored conveniently for the one-pot, four component synthesis of 1,2,4,5-tetrasubstituted imidazoles in high yields, short reaction times and milder conditions, easy work-up and purification of products by non-chromatographic methods The catalysts can be recovered for the subsequent reactions and reused without any appreciable loss of their efficiency

An efficient and one-pot synthesis of 2,4,5-trisubstituted and 1,2,4,5-tetrasubstituted imidazoles catalyzed via solid acid nano-catalyst

Heterocyclic motif is an important scaffoldwhich has both industrial and pharmaceutical applications. Thesemotifs can be prepared using wide variety of reaction conditions such as the use of expensive catalyst, toxic solvent, harsh reaction condition like the use of base, high temperature, and multistep reaction. Although variousmethods are involved, the chemistry arena is now shifted towards the greener way of synthesis. Nanocatalyst constitutes an important role in the green synthesis. This is because the activity of the catalyst resides in the exposed portion of the particles. By decreasing the size of the catalyst, advantages such as more surface area would be exposed to the reactant, only negligible amount would be required to give the significant result and selectivity could be achieved, thereby, eliminating the undesired products. The current review enlists the various types of nanocatalyst involved in the heterocyclic ring formation and also some other important functionalization over the ring.

The invention relates to a method for preparing chitosan and chitin functional materials by taking ionic liquids as solvents. In the invention, the ionic liquids or the water solutions of the ionic liquids are adopted for dissolving chitosan and chitin so as to prepare chitosan functional fibers, chitin functional fibers, chitosan/chitin blended fibers, chitosan functional films, chitin functional films, and chitosan/chitin films respectively. Imidazole-category ionic liquid, pyridine-category ionic liquid, pyrrole-category ionic liquid, morpholine-category ionic liquid and thiazole-category ionic liquid or water solutions of the ionic liquids are used as solvents, and the solvent selection of chitosan and chitin are broadened. The method utilizes the ionic liquids to prepare chitosan and chitin functional fibers and films, and the method is high in efficient and environment-friendly; in addition, the prepared functional materials have high mechanical strength and stable chemical properties. The functional materials improve the application of the fibers and the films in the fields of medical, health care and textiles.

Method for preparing chitosan and chitin functional materials by taking ionic liquid as solvent

The invention relates to a thiazole amino acid salt type ionic liquid and a preparation method thereof. The ionic liquid has the structural general formula of A B , wherein A has a structural general formula containing R1, R2 and R3, and R1, R2 and R3 in the general formula comply to the following rules: (a) at least containing one carbon atom; and (b) at most containing 20 carbon atoms; and B is one of amino acid anions. The preparation method comprises the following steps of: preparing a thiazole non-amino-acid-salt-type ionic liquid; converting the thiazole non-amino-acid-salt-type ionic liquid into a thiazole hydroxide type ionic liquid through anion exchange reaction; and performing neutralization reaction between amino acid and the thiazole hydroxide type ionic liquid to prepare the thiazole amino acid salt type ionic liquid. The thiazole amino acid salt type ionic liquid which has the advantages of environmental friendliness, diversity, strong dissolvability, biocompatibility and the like is a new generation of ionic liquid which is more environmentally friendly and greener and has wide application prospects in pharmaceutical chemistry, organic chemistry and industrial chemistry.
