The gravitationally unstable gas disk of a starburst galaxy 12 billion years ago.
Ken-ichi Tadaki,Daisuke Iono,M. S. Yun,Itziar Aretxaga,Bunyo Hatsukade,David H. Hughes,Soh Ikarashi,Takuma Izumi,Ryohei Kawabe,Ryohei Kawabe,Kotaro Kohno,Minju Lee,Yoichi Matsuda,Kouichiro Nakanishi,Takashi Saito,Yoichi Tamura,Junko Ueda,Hideki Umehata,G. W. Wilson,Tomonari Michiyama,M. Ando,Patrick Kamieneski +21 more
TL;DR: The spatial and kinematic structure of the molecular gas inside the heavily dust-obscured core and show that the underlying gas disk is clumpy and rotationally supported are resolved, suggesting that the self-gravity of the gas is stronger than the differential rotation of the disk and the internal pressure due to stellar-radiation feedback.
ALMA Deep Field in SSA22: A concentration of dusty starbursts in a z=3.09 protocluster core
Hideki Umehata,Hideki Umehata,Yoichi Tamura,Kotaro Kohno,Rob Ivison,Rob Ivison,David M. Alexander,James E. Geach,Bunyo Hatsukade,David H. Hughes,Soh Ikarashi,Yuta Kato,Takuma Izumi,Ryohei Kawabe,M. Kubo,Minju Lee,Bret D. Lehmer,Ryu Makiya,Yuichi Matsuda,Kouichiro Nakanishi,Tomoki Saito,Ian Smail,Toru Yamada,Yuki Yamaguchi,M. S. Yun +24 more
TL;DR: In this article, the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA) was used to map the SSA22 protocluster at 1.1~mm.
ALMA deep field in SSA22: Blindly detected CO emitters and [C II ] emitter candidates
Natsuki H. Hayatsu,Yuichi Matsuda,Hideki Umehata,Hideki Umehata,Naoki Yoshida,Naoki Yoshida,Ian Smail,A. Mark Swinbank,Rob Ivison,Kotaro Kohno,Yoichi Tamura,Mariko Kubo,Daisuke Iono,Bunyo Hatsukade,Kouichiro Nakanishi,Ryohei Kawabe,Tohru Nagao,Akio K. Inoue,Tsutomu T. Takeuchi,Minju Lee,Yiping Ao,Seiji Fujimoto,Takuma Izumi,Yuki Yamaguchi,Soh Ikarashi,Toru Yamada +25 more
TL;DR: In this article, the Atacama Large Milli/submillimeter Array (ALMA) was used to detect four millimeter line-emitting galaxies with significance levels above 6σ.
Extremely Red Submillimeter Galaxies: New z>~4-6 Candidates Discovered using ALMA and Jansky VLA
Soh Ikarashi,Rob Ivison,Rob Ivison,Karina Caputi,Kouichiro Nakanishi,Claudia del P. Lagos,M. L. N. Ashby,Itziar Aretxaga,James Dunlop,Bunyo Hatsukade,David H. Hughes,Daisuke Iono,Takuma Izumi,Ryohei Kawabe,Kotaro Kohno,Kentaro Motohara,Kouji Ohta,Yoichi Tamura,Hideki Umehata,Hideki Umehata,Grant W. Wilson,Kiyoto Yabe,Min S. Yun +22 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the Atacama Large Millimeter/sub-millimeter Array (ALMA) and the Jansky Very Large Array (VLA) were used to characterize two extremely red submillimeter galaxies (SMGs), ASXDF1100.053.1 and 231.3.
ALMA deep field in SSA22 : Survey design and source catalog of a 20 arcmin(2) survey at 1.1 mm
Hideki Umehata,Hideki Umehata,Bunyo Hatsukade,Ian Smail,David M. Alexander,Rob Ivison,Rob Ivison,Yuichi Matsuda,Yoichi Tamura,Kotaro Kohno,Yuta Kato,Natsuki H. Hayatsu,Natsuki H. Hayatsu,Mariko Kubo,Soh Ikarashi +14 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors presented a 1.1 mm-wave map obtained by ALMA in the SSA22 field, which contains a remarkable proto-cluster at z = 3.09.
