Circulating H3Cit is elevated in a human model of endotoxemia and can be detected bound to microvesicles
Sofie Paues Göranson,Charlotte Thålin,Annika Lundström,Lars Hållström,Julie Lasselin,Julie Lasselin,Håkan Wallén,Anne Soop,Fariborz Mobarrez +8 more
TL;DR: The results demonstrate that NETs can be detected in peripheral blood during endotoxemia by two distinct H3Cit-specific methods and propose a previously unrecognized mechanism by which H 3Cit may be disseminated throughout the vasculature by the binding to MVs.
Sickness behavior is not all about the immune response: Possible roles of expectations and prediction errors in the worry of being sick.
Julie Lasselin,Julie Lasselin,Predrag Petrovic,Mats J. Olsson,Sofie Paues Göranson,Mats Lekander,Karin B. Jensen,John Axelsson +7 more
TL;DR: The current findings suggest that the emotional component of sickness behavior is, at least partly, shaped by top-down expectations, and helping patients having a realistic expectation of symptoms during treatment of an illness may thus reduce aggravated emotional responses, and ultimately improve patients' quality of life and treatment compliance.

Organ Dysfunction among Piglets Treated with Inhaled Nitric Oxide and Intravenous Hydrocortisone during Prolonged Endotoxin Infusion
Sofie Paues Göranson,Waldemar Goździk,Piotr Harbut,Stanislaw Ryniak,Stanisław Zieliński,Caroline Gillis Haegerstrand,Andrzej Kübler,Göran Hedenstierna,Claes Frostell,Johanna Albert +9 more
TL;DR: This study suggests that combined early therapy with iNO and IV steroid is associated with partial protection of kidney function after 30 hours of experimental LPS infusion.
Regulation of emotions during experimental endotoxemia: A pilot study.
Lina S. Hansson,Lina S. Hansson,John Axelsson,John Axelsson,Predrag Petrovic,Sofie Paues Göranson,Mats J. Olsson,Mats Lekander,Mats Lekander,Julie Lasselin +9 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors explore the effect of experimentally induced inflammation on the cognitive reappraisal of emotions and assess domain specificity by comparing success in regulation of emotions towards two unpleasant stimuli classes (general negative stimuli as well as disgust stimuli).

Pulmonary Vasodilation by Intravenous Infusion of Organic Mononitrites Of 1,2-Propanediol in Acute Pulmonary Hypertension Induced by Aortic Cross Clamping and Reperfusion: A Comparison With Nitroglycerin in Anesthetized Pigs.
Kristofer F. Nilsson,Waldemar Gozdzik,Stanisław Zieliński,K. Ratajczak,Sofie Paues Göranson,Sylwia Rodziewicz,Piotr Harbut,Barbara Barteczko-Grajek,Johanna Albert,Claes Frostell +9 more
TL;DR: PDNO was an effective pulmonary vasodilator and appeared superior to nitroglycerin and inorganic nitrite, without causing significant systemic hypotension, impaired arterial oxygenation, or methaemoglobin formation in an animal model of SRACC and reperfusion.
