Space mapping and beyond: Knowledge-driven microwave design optimization
Slawomir Koziel,Kaj Madsen +1 more
- 17 Jun 2012
TL;DR: The concept of knowledge-driven design is reviewed as well as specific design techniques, including space mapping, simulation-based tuning, and various response correction methods, which can dramatically reduce the number of EM simulations necessary to find a satisfactory design.

Enhanced Axial-Ratio Bandwidth Single-Point-Fed CP Antenna Using Slot Structure Modification
Ubaid Ullah,Slawomir Koziel +1 more
- 01 Jul 2019
TL;DR: In this paper, a compact single-point-fed circularly polarized antenna with enhanced axial ratio (AR) bandwidth is investigated, where a combination of parasitic strips and modified geometry of the wide slot is used to improve circular polarization (CP) performance of the antenna.

Triangulation-Based Constrained Modeling
Slawomir Koziel,Anna Pietrenko-Dabrowska +1 more
- 01 Jan 2020
TL;DR: This chapter discusses a systematic approach to constrained modeling that allows for an arbitrary allocation of the reference designs as well as, in principle, arbitrary number of performance figures.

On geometry parameterization for simulation-driven design closure of antenna structures
Slawomir Koziel,Anna Pietrenko-Dabrowska +1 more
- 26 Jul 2021
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that the approach to arranging the structure parameterization (e.g., the use of absolute or relative parameters) may have a major effect of the optimization outcome of the simulation-based design closure process.
