TL;DR: Four existing indices of socioeconomic status (SES) are evaluated to determine the most relevant for the analysis of early childhood development (ECD) in Canada and material components of the SES indices consistently showed the strongest association with children's language and cognitive development.

TL;DR: The neighbourhood SES gradient in child outcomes is steeper for males than for females, and this finding was consistent across all five developmental domains measured by the EDI, for overall developmental health, and across geographical regions in Canada.

TL;DR: The comprehensive intervention was associated with better outcomes on early childhood development across four domains and it is recommended to extend this programme to other areas of Ethiopia, where children do not have appropriate school preparation, to reduce risk of school dropout, negative personal and societal outcomes.
