Forest fire effects on stream water quality at continental scales: a meta-analysis
TL;DR: In this paper , the authors conducted a meta-analysis to explore post-fire changes in the concentrations of nitrogen (N) and phosphorus (P) species, dissolved organic carbon, and total suspended sediments in 121 sites around the world.

Windows into the past: lake sediment phosphorus trajectories act as integrated archives of watershed disturbance legacies over centennial scales
TL;DR: In this article , the authors used a meta-analysis of 113 paleolimnological studies across 124 lakes and four reservoirs in 20 countries to quantify the linkages between the 100-year trajectories of legacy phosphorus (P) concentrations in lake sediments, watershed inputs, and lake morphology.

Organic Carbon Burial in Constructed Ponds in Southern Sweden
Karl Ljung,Simon Lin +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper , the authors present measurements of yearly sedimentary carbon accumulation and carbon stocks in six small, constructed and restored ponds in southern Sweden, and suggest that using small constructed ponds as carbon mitigation strategy must be done with caution, and the potential for increased methane emissions must be considered.
