Stacking disorder in metastable NiSn4
TL;DR: The atomic structure of NiSn4 intermetallic forming at ambient temperature in different types of Sn/Ni diffusion couples was investigated by powder X-ray diffraction as mentioned in this paper, showing that the stacking of these layers is irregular (faulted) by being an intermediate between the pseudotetragonal PtSn4- (space group Aeaa) and the tetragonal β-Irsn4-type (Space group I41/acd) ideal structures.

Application of the cluster variation method to ε-Fe2N1-z and ζ-Fe2N: ordering of interstitial atoms
TL;DR: In this paper, the regular and irregular trigonal prism approximations of the cluster variation method (CVM) are applied to investigate the e-Fe2N1−z and the ζ-Fe 2N phases.

On the mean kinetic energy of the proton in strong hydrogen bonded systems
TL;DR: The presently calculated Ke(H) values for the two systems were found to be in excellent agreement with published values obtained by deep inelastic neutron scattering measurements carried out using the VESUVIO instrument of the Rutherford Laboratory, UK.

Thermodynamic modeling of the CaO-CaF2-Al2O3 system aided by first-principles calculations
Cuiping Guo,Cuiping Guo,Shun Li Shang,Zhenmin Du,Paul D. Jablonski,Michael C. Gao,Zi Kui Liu +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, a two-sublattice ionic model for the CaO-CaF 2, Al 2 O 3, CaF 2, and Al O 3 -Al O 3 3 quasibinaries is presented.

Nature of ferroelectric–paraelectric transition
TL;DR: In this paper, the invariant critical points (ICP) were introduced to represent the stability of the PE phase with respect to two FE phases in a three-dimensional electric field-pressure-temperature phase diagram of PbTiO3.
