Notch Signaling and Liver Cancer
TL;DR: Gene expression and genomic analysis using a microarray revealed that abnormalities in Notch-related genes were associated with the aggressiveness of liver cancer, and Notch signaling exerts various actions and is a clinical signature associated with hepatocarcinogenesis and liver context-related developmental function.

Human hepatitis B virus X protein augments the DNA binding of nuclear factor for IL-6 through its basic-leucine zipper domain.
TL;DR: Results indicate that HBx alters the DNA‐binding affinity of NF‐IL6 through the direct interaction between the C‐terminal domain of HBx and the basic region‐leucine zipper domain of NF-IL6.

Peptide vaccine-treated, long-term surviving cancer patients harbor self-renewing tumor-specific CD8+ T cells
Eishiro Mizukoshi,Hidetoshi Nakagawa,Toshikatsu Tamai,Masaaki Kitahara,Kazumi Fushimi,Kouki Nio,Takeshi Terashima,Noriho Iida,Kuniaki Arai,Tatsuya Yamashita,Taro Yamashita,Yoshio Sakka,Masao Honda,Shuichi Kaneko +13 more
TL;DR: This article showed that peptide-specific long-lasting CD8+ T cells acquire an effector memory phenotype that associates with cell cycle-related genes (CCNA2 and CDK1), and are characterized by high expression of IL7R, SELL, and NOSIP along with a later stage promotion of the AP-1 transcription factor network (5 years or more past vaccination).

Risk factors associated with relapse or infectious complications in Japanese patients with microscopic polyangiitis
Kiyoki Kitagawa,Kengo Furuichi,Akihiro Sagara,Yasuyuki Shinozaki,Shinji Kitajima,Tadashi Toyama,Akinori Hara,Yasunori Iwata,Norihiko Sakai,Miho Shimizu,Shuichi Kaneko,Takashi Wada +11 more
TL;DR: The disease activity at diagnosis and severity of organ damage at remission were associated with relapse and infectious complications during remission maintenance therapy and infectious complication affected kidney survival and all-cause mortality in patients with ANCA-positive MPA exhibiting RPGN.

Adipose tissue-derived stem cells prevent fibrosis in murine steatohepatitis by suppressing IL-17-mediated inflammation.
Masatoshi Yamato,Yoshio Sakai,Hatsune Mochida,Kazunori Kawaguchi,Masayuki Takamura,Soichiro Usui,Akihiro Seki,Eishiro Mizukoshi,Taro Yamashita,Tatsuya Yamashita,Kousuke Ishida,Alessandro Nasti,Ho Thuy Bich Tuyen,Takuya Komura,Keiko Yoshida,Takashi Wada,Masao Honda,Shuichi Kaneko +17 more
TL;DR: How liver damage progresses during the early development phase of the murine NASH model is assessed and whether ADSCs are preventatively efficacious against the fibrosis progression of NASH is investigated.
