Surface texture formation mechanism based on the ultrasonic vibration-assisted grinding process
TL;DR: In this article, a single grain cutting process model was established, and the cutting trajectory length and shape were calculated by considering continuous cutting process of large amounts of grains, the surface texture formation mechanism was established.

Experimental study of nickel-based superalloy IN792 with femtosecond laser drilling method
Feng-Yun Zhang,Jin Wang,Xi Wang,Jian Zhang,Jian Zhang,Yoshio Hayasaki,Dongsik Kim,Shufeng Sun +7 more
TL;DR: The improvement of aircraft engine performance resulted in the highly demand of drilling micron-sized holes (see as discussed by the authors for an overview of the use of micron sized holes in aircraft engines).

Investigation of the three-dimensional flow field for proton exchange membrane fuel cell with additive manufactured stainless steel bipolar plates: Numerical simulation and experiments
TL;DR: In this article , three types of 3D flow field bipolar plates with different porosity (M1, M2 and M3) and a conventional two-dimensional (2D) serpentine bipolar plate (SP), were fabricated using selective laser melting (SLM).

A study on film hole drilling of IN718 superalloy via laser machining combined with high temperature chemical etching
Qiang Zhang,Shufeng Sun,Feng-Yun Zhang,Wang Jin,Lv Qiangqiang,Shao Yong,Liu Qingyu,Shao Jing,Liu Xinfu,Zhang Yan +9 more
TL;DR: In this article, a method of laser machining combined with high temperature chemical etching (LMHTCE) was proposed to drill film holes in an IN718 superalloy without a recast layer or a heat affect zone (HAZ).

Investigation on the heat source profile on the finished surface in grinding based on the inverse heat transfer analysis
TL;DR: In this article, the inverse heat transfer analysis was performed to investigate the heat source profile on the finished surface under different grinding conditions, and the results showed that the modeled right triangular heat source profiles are applicable in conventional shallow grinding, is triangular in creep feed grinding, and is close to be parabolic in HEDG.
