Advances in microbial production of medium-chain dicarboxylic acids for nylon materials
TL;DR: This review article critically comment existing methods for producing MDCAs and their biosynthesis, emphasizing metabolic engineering and synthetic biology strategies, which could help overcome barriers ahead and facilitate efficient bio-based production of M DCAs in the future.

Recent progress in metabolic engineering of Saccharomyces cerevisiae for the production of malonyl-CoA derivatives.
TL;DR: This review focuses on how to increase the intracellular malonyl-CoA level and summarizes the recent advances in different metabolic engineering strategies for directing intrACEllular maloneyl- CoA to the desired malony l-coA derivatives.

Metabolic engineering of the malonyl-CoA pathway to efficiently produce malonate in Saccharomyces cerevisiae.
TL;DR: In this article , the malonyl-CoA hydrolase activity of Ehd3 was achieved by mutating the binding site F121 to I121 and the active site E124 to seven amino acids (S/T/H/K/R/N/Q).

Genetic analysis of oxidative and endoplasmic reticulum stress responses induced by cobalt toxicity in budding yeast.
TL;DR: This study reinforced the fact that cobalt toxicity might be due to the high intracellular cobalt and ROS levels, and the endoplasmic reticulum stress responses induced by cobalt.

Roles of High Osmolarity Glycerol and Cell Wall Integrity Pathways in Cadmium Toxicity in Saccharomyces cerevisiae.
TL;DR: In this article, the authors demonstrate that the unfolded protein response (UPR) pathway, the high osmolarity glycerol (HOG) pathway and the cell wall integrity (CWI) pathway are all essential for yeast cells to defend against the cadmium-induced toxicity, including the elevated ROS and cell death levels induced by Cadmium.
