Stomach-specific drug delivery of 5-fluorouracil using floating alginate beads
TL;DR: The multiple-bead FDF of 5-fluorouracil was found to reduce the tumor incidence in mice by 74%, while the conventional tablet dosage form reduced this incidence by only 25%.
D-optimal experimental approach for designing topical microemulsion of itraconazole: Characterization and evaluation of antifungal efficacy against a standardized Tinea pedis infection model in Wistar rats.
Neeraj Kumar,Shishu +1 more
TL;DR: Rapid remission of Tinea pedis from rats treated with OPT-ME formulation was observed in comparison to commercially available therapies, indicating the superiority of microemulsion hydrogel formulation over conventional approaches for treating superficial fungal infections.

A Review of Recent Investigations on Medicinal Herbs Possessing Anti-Diabetic Properties
Nidhi Aggarwal,Shishu +1 more
TL;DR: The paper reviews composition, active principles and pharmacological effects of some important plants which are widely used in commercially available herbal and polyherbal formulations and provides a detailed list of plants reported to possess potential anti-diabetic activity.
Bioavailability enhancement and targeting of stomach tumors using gastro-retentive floating drug delivery system of curcumin--"a technical note".
TL;DR: A floating drug delivery system (FDDS) with sustained release characteristics was developed to improve the aqueous solubility of curcumin at acidic pH by incorporating it into β-cyclodextrin (β-CD) complex.

Development and evaluation of novel microemulsion based oral formulations of 5-fluorouracil using non-everted rat intestine sac model.
TL;DR: It is suggested that microemulsion formulation of 5-FU may be used for the treatment of human cancers after pharmacokinetic and clinical evaluation and in vivo pharmacodynamic studies suggest significant enhancement in the bioavailability and therapeutic efficacy.
