Visible-Light-Driven Photocatalytic Oxidation of H2S by Boron-doped TiO2/LDH Heterojunction: Synthesis, Performance, and Reaction Mechanism

Accelerated Dual Activation of Lattice Oxygen and Molecule Oxygen over CoMn2O4 Catalysts for VOC Oxidation: Promoting the Role of Oxygen Vacancies

The direct hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) product from H2 and O2 is a promising anthraquinone replacement because it is environmentally friendly and has a high atom efficiency. Experimental and theoretical studies have proven that optimizing the adsorption of the critical intermediate OOH* on the metal site significantly promotes the further protonation of this intermediate and inhibits the O–O bond cleavage, thus enhancing the activity and selectivity. Redistributing the charge density of active sites to tuning the d-band center of the metal could effectively modulate the intermediates adsorption, and thus regulate the catalytic efficiency. Herein, we show that a Lewis acid (ZnCl2 solution) induces abundant oxygen vacancies (Ovs) on the TiO2 surface, which results in a reversal of charge transfer from TiO2–Ov support to the Pd atom, generating an electron-rich Pd configuration. Compared with pristine Pd/TiO2, Pd/TiO2–Ov possesses higher H2O2 selectivity and productivity, with values of 80.7% and 186 mol kgcat–1 h–1, respectively. In addition, Pd/TiO2–Ov maintains stability during the six cycles reaction due to its high resistance to the leaching of Pd species. Theoretical calculations reveal that the reversed charge transfer downshifts the d-band center of Pd, which promotes O2 adsorption on the Pd surface and weakens the OOH* intermediates adsorption. Thus, the energy barrier for the hydrogenation of the OOH* intermediate is significantly decreased, and the O–O band cleavage is inhibited. This study reports a reversal of charge transfer tuning the d-band center of the active site for efficient direct H2O2 synthesis, which may provide insight for designing high-performance catalysts.

Rapid and sensitive bacteria detection and identification are becoming increasingly important for a wide range of areas including the control of food safety, the prevention of infectious diseases, and environmental monitoring. Raman spectroscopy is an emerging technology which provides comprehensive information for the analysis of bacteria in a short time and with high sensitivity. Raman spectroscopy offers many advantages including relatively simple operation, non-destructive analysis, and information on molecular differences between bacteria species and strains. A variety of biochemical properties can be measured in a single spectrum. This short review covers the recent advancements and applications of Raman spectroscopy for bacteria analysis with specific focuses on bacteria detection, bacteria identification and discrimination, as well as bacteria antibiotic susceptibility testing in 2022. The development of novel substrates, the combination with other techniques, and the utilization of advanced data processing tools for the improvement of Raman spectroscopy and future directions are discussed.

Two-dimensional (2D) organic−inorganic perovskites have great potential for the fabrication of next-generation photodetectors owing to their outstanding optoelectronic features, but their utilization has encountered a bottleneck in anisotropic carrier transportation induced by the unfavorable continuity of the thin films. We propose a facile approach for the fabrication of 0D ZnO quantum dot (QD)/2D (PEA)2PbI4 nanosheet hybrid photodetectors under the atmospheric conditions associated with the ZnO QD chloroform antisolvent. Profiting from the antisolvent, the uniform morphology of the perovskite thin films is obtained owing to the significantly accelerated nucleation site formation and grain growth rates, and ZnO QDs homogeneously decorate the surface of (PEA)2PbI4 nanosheets, which spontaneously passivate the defects on perovskites and enhance the carrier separation by the well-matched band structure. By varying the ZnO QD concentration, the Ion/Ioff ratio of the photodetectors radically elevates from 78.3 to 1040, and a 12-fold increase in the normalized detectivity is simultaneously observed. In addition, the agglomeration of perovskite grains is governed by the annealing temperature, and the photodetector fabricated at a relatively low temperature of 120 °C exhibits excellent stability after a 50-cycle test in the air condition without any encapsulation.

High Performance 0D ZnO Quantum Dot/2D (PEA)2PbI4 Nanosheet Hybrid Photodetectors Fabricated via a Facile Antisolvent Method

Polyimide films are widely used in spacecraft, but their mechanical properties would degrade in space environments, such as electron, proton, near ultraviolet or far ultraviolet, etc. The mechanical property and mechanism of polyimide film in electron, proton, near ultraviolet and far ultraviolet was studied by Φ800 combined space radiation test facility of Beijing Institute of Space Environment Engineering (BISSE), and the degradation of mechanical property of polyimide film was tested by Electronic tensile testing machine. The tensile strength and the rupture elongation of PI film decrease with the increase of electron and proton radiation, while tensile strength and the rupture elongation of PI film decrease firstly and then increase with near ultraviolet and far ultraviolet.
