Regulation of calcitonin receptor by glucocorticoid in human osteoclast-like cells prepared in vitro using receptor activator of nuclear factor-kappaB ligand and macrophage colony-stimulating factor.
Seiki Wada,Shigemitsu Yasuda,Tsutomu Nagai,Tomoya Maeda,Shinji Kitahama,Satoru Suda,David M. Findlay,Makoto Iitaka,Shigehiro Katayama +8 more
TL;DR: Using mouse osteoclast-like cells, it is shown that treatment with glucocorticoids resulted in an increase in calcitonin (CT) binding by enhancing CT receptor (CTR) gene transcription, suggesting that CTR up-regulation is at least partly due to a increase in de novo CTR synthesis.

Stability of A+U-rich element binding factor 1 (AUF1)-binding messenger ribonucleic acid correlates with the subcellular relocalization of AUF1 in the rat uterus upon estrogen treatment.
Yukitomo Arao,Atsumi Kikuchi,Mitsuyo Kishida,Masami Yonekura,Akira Inoue,Shigemitsu Yasuda,Seiki Wada,Kazuhiro Ikeda,Fujio Kayama +8 more
TL;DR: The results suggested that E2-inducible ARE-containing gene transcripts are regulated, at least in part, via mRNA stabilization through the nucleocytoplasmic relocalization of AUF1.
Clinical characterization of patients with primary aldosteronism plus subclinical Cushing's syndrome.
Shigemitsu Yasuda,Yusuke Hikima,Yusuke Kabeya,Shinichiro Iida,Yoichi Oikawa,Masashi Isshiki,Ikuo Inoue,Akira Shimada,Mitsuhiko Noda,Mitsuhiko Noda +9 more
TL;DR: Clinicians should suspect the presence of concurrent SCS in patients with PA when detecting a relatively large adrenal tumor on the computed tomography (CT) scans.
Weight control before and during pregnancy for patients with gestational diabetes mellitus.
Shigemitsu Yasuda,Takujiro Iuchi,Atsushi Goto,Kota Katanoda,Shinichiro Iida,Yoichi Oikawa,Akira Namba,Masashi Isshiki,Ikuo Inoue,Yoshimasa Kamei,Akira Shimada,Mitsuhiko Noda +11 more
TL;DR: The aim of the present study was to examine the associations of pregestational body mass index (BMI) and gestational weight change with birthweight for gestational age in Japanese mothers with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM).

Examination of Malignant Findings of Thyroid Nodules Using Thyroid Ultrasonography.
TL;DR: Findings suggestive of papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) were found from images obtained using thyroid ultrasonography and the frequency of FNAC examinations should be reduced as this method is costly and invasive.
