Progressive collapse behaviour of composite substructure with large rectangular beam-web openings
Bao Meng,Yunpeng Xiong,Wei-hui Zhong,Shi Duan +3 more
TL;DR: This study investigates the progressive collapse resistance of composite substructures with rectangular beam-web openings, revealing improved resistance and deformation capabilities through novel construction measures, and deriving expressions for boundary axial constraint coefficients.

Numerical evaluation on collapse-resistant performance of steel-braced concentric frames
TL;DR: In this article , numerical models of steel-braced concentric frames with or without braces were validated based on previous experimental results, and the effects of brace members of various types and with different slenderness ratios on the collapse behavior were illustrated.

Effect of various boundary constraints on the collapse behavior of multi-story composite frames
TL;DR: In this paper , the influence of boundary constraints on the structural collapse behavior of multi-story composite frames was investigated. And the results indicated that the elastic boundary constraints, which were widely used in previous collapse studies, overestimated the later resistance of multistage composite frames compared with that of actual boundary constraints.

Failure mechanism of steel frames with angle steel-bolted connections exposed to fire under progressive collapse condition
Yu-hui Zheng,Wei-hui Zhong,Yue Zhang,Zheng Tan,Shi Duan,Bao Meng,Yao Gao,Hong-chen Wang +7 more
TL;DR: A multi-scale analysis of steel frames with angle steel-bolted connections exposed to fire reveals that thermal expansion triggers compressive arching action, while rotational constraint and column load ratio influence damage modes and collapse-resistant mechanisms.

Comparative evaluation of collapse behavior at different structural levels with different connections
TL;DR: In this article , a three-story composite sub-frame with a weld cover-plated flange (WCPF) connection is quasi-statically tested and subjected to an internal column-removal scenario.
