Mechanism of organ dysfunction in phosphate depletion: a critical role for a rise in cytosolic calcium.
TL;DR: This work has demonstrated that PD is associated with a significant elevation in basal levels of cytosolic calcium [Ca2+]i in many cells, which plays a major role in organ dysfunction in PD and in the genesis of decreased ATP content of cells.

Acute administration of intact parathyroid hormone but not its amino-terminal fragment stimulates volume of pancreatic secretion.
Mohamed A. El-Shahawy,George Z. Fadda,James R. Wisner,Ian G. Renner,Hidecki Omachi,Shaul G. Massry +5 more
TL;DR: The data demonstrate that the ductal cells of the pancreatic acini are targets for PTH and the action of the hormone on these cells is mediated, at least in part, via PTH-induced entry of calcium into the target cells.

Phosphate and mineral homeostasis
Other Minerals,Shaul G. Massry,Michel Olmer,Eberhard Ritz +3 more
- 01 Jan 1986
TL;DR: The primary Hyperparathyroidism Revisited, and the role of PTH, Vitamin D and Bone Metabolism in Low Protein-Induced Hypercalciuria patients is discussed.

Elevated cytosolic calcium of adipocytes in chronic renal failure
TL;DR: Vmax Ca2+ ATPase and the activity of Na(+-K(+)-ATPase and of Na (+)-Ca2+ exchanger were reduced in CRF rats as compared to the other four groups of rats.
