The Addition of a Leaded Arm Sleeve to Leaded Aprons Further Decreases Operator Upper Outer Quadrant Chest Wall Radiation Dose During Fluoroscopically Guided Interventions.
Bala Ramanan,Alejandro Pizano,Antonio Solano,Amrit S Gonugunta,Carlos H. Timaran,Michael Cyrus Siah,Shadman Baig,Michael Shih,Jeffrey B. Guild,Melissa L. Kirkwood +9 more
TL;DR: Routine leaded aprons do attenuate the majority of UOQ chest wall dose, however the addition of a lead-equivalent sleeve further significantly reduces this dose, especially to female interventionalists.

New imaging technology system reduces patient radiation dose during peripheral arterial endovascular interventions.
Alejandro Pizano,Ali Khurram,Khalil Chamseddin,Carlos H. Timaran,Shadman Baig,Michael Shih,Yin Xi,Jeffrey B. Guild,Melissa L. Kirkwood +8 more
TL;DR: In this article , the authors evaluated whether the radiation dose during peripheral arterial endovascular procedures had decreased after implementation of the CLEAR system upgrade and found that the Clear VD11 PURE platform technology system has been reported to lower the radiation doses and improve image quality.

Transcatheter electrosurgical septotomy technique for chronic post-dissection aortic aneurysms
Aidin Baghbani-Oskouei,Safa Savadi,Thomas Mesnard,Titia Sulzer,Aleem K. Mirza,Shadman Baig,Carlos H. Timaran,Gustavo S. Oderich +7 more
- 01 Dec 2023
TL;DR: The indications and technical pitfalls of transcatheter electrosurgical septotomy in patients treated by endovascular repair for chronic postdissection aortic aneurysms are summarized.

Transcatheter Electrosurgical Aortic Septotomy for Treatment of Dissecting Thoracoabdominal Aortic Aneurysms
Andres V. Figueroa Barrios,Benjamin Lee,Mira T. Tanenbaum,Jose Eduardo Costa-Filho,F. Pavarino,Jesus Porras Colon,Shadman Baig,Melissa L. Kirkwood,Carlos H. Timaran +8 more
TL;DR: This study explores the use of transcatheter electrosurgical aortic septotomy (TEAS) as an adjunct for endovascular repair of dissecting thoracoabdominal aortic aneurysms, addressing challenges such as true lumen compression and false lumen involvement.
