Present and Future Salmonid Cytogenetics.
Muhammet Gaffaroğlu,Zuzana Majtánová,Radka Symonová,Šárka Pelikánová,Sevgi Ünal,Zdeněk Lajbner,Petr Ráb +6 more
TL;DR: It is shown how the presumably repetitive sequences in salmonids can change the understanding of the overall relationship between genome size and G+C content, creating another outstanding question in salmonid cytogenomics waiting to be resolved.

Karyotype, C-banding and AgNORs of two endemic leuciscine fish, Pseudophoxinuscrassus (Ladiges, 1960) and P.hittitorum Freyhof & Özulug, 2010 (Teleostei, Cyprinidae).
TL;DR: The C-banding technique revealed clear pericentromeric blocks of CH in many chromosomes; Ag-NORs treatment revealed consistent positive signals at the end of the short arms of a submetacentric chromosome pair, likely homologous in both species.

Karyology of six cyprinid fishes from Seyhan and Ceyhan rivers in Anatolia
Sevgi Ünal,Muhammet Gaffaroğlu +1 more
TL;DR: The cytogenetic features of endemic fishes A. adanensis, L. pectoralis, P. zekayi and S. seyhanensis were detected for the first time in this study and several chromosomes presented C-bands in pericentromeric and/or paracentromeric position, near the centromere.

Karyotype of river loach Turcinoemacheilus kosswigi Bănărescu and Nalbant, 1964 (Cypriniformes, Balitoridae) from the Euphrates River, Turkey.
TL;DR: C-banded positive constitutive heterochromatin was found in the entire short arms of a pair of large m-sm chromosomes and in the centromeres of several chromosome pairs though to a lesser extent.

New records of Pseudophoxinus firati from Turkey (Teleostei: Leuciscidae)
Gülşah Saç,Müfit Özuluğ,Mahmut Elp,Muhammet Gaffaroğlu,Sevgi Ünal,Muradiye Karasu Ayata,Cüneyt Kaya,Jörg Freyhof +7 more
TL;DR: Pseudophoxinus firati was described from one spring in the upper Euphrates River drainage in Turkey but these findings largely expand the distribution area of the species and its habitats are discussed.
