Objective: to assess the potentials of using indocyanine green fluorescence angiography in evaluating revascularization of tissue-engineered construct that was obtained from the decellularized biological matrix of primate trachea, including using mesenchymal stem cells, after heterotopic tracheal allotransplantation. Material and methods. Tracheas were obtained from two male hamadryas baboons. After decellularization, 4 cm segments of tracheas were implanted under the lateral part of the latissimus dorsi in two healthy primates, one after recellularization with mesenchymal stem cells (animal 1), and the second without recellularization (animal 2). Immunosuppressive therapy was not performed. Blood flow in the transplanted segment of the trachea was evaluated 60 days after transplantation by surgical isolation of the flap of the latissimus dorsi with the transplanted segment of the trachea, while maintaining blood flow through the thoracodorsal artery. Indocyanine green near-infrared fluorescence angiography was visualized using a FLUM-808 multispectral fluorescence organoscope. Results. Sixty days after implantation, the tracheal cartilaginous framework macroscopically appeared to be intact in both animals, tightly integrated into the muscle tissue. The framework retained its natural color. After intravenous injection of indocyanine green, the tracheal vessels were visualized in both animals. Intercartilaginous vessels and portions of the cartilaginous semi-rings devoid of vessels were clearly distinguished. The entire implanted segment was almost uniformly vascularized. No local disruptions in blood supply were observed. The fluorescence brightness of the tracheal vessels was 193 ± 17 cu and 198 ± 10 cu in animals 1 and 2, respectively. The average muscle brightness in the implantation zone was 159 ± 9 cu and 116 ± 8 cu in animals 1 and 2, respectively. Conclusion . Indocyanine green fluorescence angiography is characterized by high-contrast images and high sensitivity. This facilitates vascular patency visualization and allows to assess the degree of neoangiogenesis after experimental transplantation of the tracheal segment, at different stages of experiment, without euthanizing the animal.

The article presents the study results of the regions readiness to the formation of intelligent transport systems as the basis for creating a network of transport and logistics clusters. The statistical comparative analysis of the regions potential by components (innovative, technological, economic) has been performed. The assessment of the regions readiness for the innovative systems and technologies implementation and the transport and logistics cluster creation has been presented. A technique for localization selection of intelligent transport technologies in the regions has been developed, as a base for organizing a transport and logistics cluster.

The spatial structure of baltic sea ferry services

This article analyses the availability of transport infrastructure objects in the Baltic macroregion. With the help of the cluster and integral assessment methods, the authors differentiate and classify mesoregions of the Baltic macroregion according to the level of development of both individual transport types and the transport system as a whole. The theoretical contribution of the study lies in the revision of the existing integral indices of transport infrastructure object availability, whereas the practical contribution of the study relates to the possibility to apply the results obtained in developing and adjusting regional and industry-specific transport development programmes. An important conclusion of the study is the practical confirmation of the significant underdevelopment of the regions of North-West Russia (within the Baltic region) as to the availability of transport infrastructure objects in comparison to most mesoregions of the Baltic macroregion. An assessment of the availability of transport infrastructure objects in the baltic region

The issue of international positioning is crucial to all exclaves, and the Kaliningrad region surrounded by the Baltic region countries is no exception. This contribution aims to describe a general strategic path for positioning the Russian territory in question. To produce recommendations on a positioning concept, it looks at the ties between the Kaliningrad region and the neighbouring Baltic States and how the former is perceived by the latter. Publication monitoring and media content analysis were carried out to explore the image created in the Latvian, Lithuanian and Estonian media in recent years. Avenues for positioning are proposed in line with the principles of place branding, and the interests common to the region and the Baltic States are considered through the lens of international cooperation projects. The emphasis is on the prospects for trade relations development. The main advantages of the region are identified, and the risks to be reckoned with when forming a positioning concept are determined. The findings suggest that strategic positioning is feasible in the case of the Kaliningrad region; its focal points may be investment, logistics, tourism and infrastructure. The authors also stress the possibility for developing international cooperation platforms and indicate regional problems of international concern.

100 The coastal regions of Russia, which ensure the country’s major export/import transactions, have potential for developing special forms of spatial organisation of regional transport system — transport clusters. This form of spatial organisation is better adapted (in comparison to a transport complex) to the ever-changing conditions of a competitive market. It suggests that all business entities of the territory interact thus increasing the competitiveness of transport cluster as a whole. The Kaliningrad region is one of the territories where the formation of an efficient international transport cluster is possible. This article offers a definition of a transport cluster and describes its internal organisation as well as the features of formation thereof in the Kaliningrad region. The practical significance of the article lies in justifying the production of practical recommendations for developing the region’s transport potential based on the cluster theory. One of the major results of the study that is presented in this article is the justification of the need for modernising the information and organisational elements of the regional transport complex alongside modernising the transport system infrastructure.
