Apoptosis versus cell differentiation: role of heat shock proteins HSP90, HSP70 and HSP27.
TL;DR: The role of HSP90, HSP70 and HSP27 in apoptosis and cell differentiation is reviewed to determine de fate of the cells by orchestrating the decision of apoptosis versus differentiation.

TL;DR: It is demonstrated that, in the late stages of the erythroid differentiation program, HSP27 is phosphorylated in a p38-dependent manner, enters the nucleus, binds to GATA-1, and induces its ubiquitination and proteasomal degradation, provided that the transcription factor is acetylated.
