No increase in autism-associated genetic events in children conceived by assisted reproduction
TL;DR: This is the first large genetic association to concurrently examine the genotype of individuals with ASD in relation to their exposure to ART versus natural conception, and it adds reassuring evidence to the argument that ART does not increase the risk of ASD.

Interactive Effects of Prenatal Antidepressant Exposure and Likely Gene Disrupting Mutations on the Severity of Autism Spectrum Disorder
TL;DR: A significant interactive effect between antidepressant exposure and the presence of an LGD mutation on ASD severity in the ADOS and ADI-R verbal communication domains is found.
Urgent assessment of decision-making capacity in a patient with schizophrenia and an evolving myocardial infarction who is refusing care.
TL;DR: Although this case brings up classic yet complicated issues relating to decision-making capacity with a presentation that is rarely reported, it also raises questions about how the current emphasis on patient autonomy can affect patient care in the current medical-ethical-legal landscape.

Tympanostomy tube placement in children with autism.
TL;DR: It is found that approximately 1 in 6 children with ASD underwent TTP, more than double the rate in the general population, which may simply be higher because physicians are swift to perform TTP in children at risk for speech delay.
