Flavivirus-induced antibody cross-reactivity
Karen L. Mansfield,Karen L. Mansfield,Daniel L. Horton,Daniel L. Horton,Nicholas Johnson,Li Li,Alan D.T. Barrett,Derek J. Smith,Sareen E. Galbraith,Tom Solomon,Anthony R. Fooks,Anthony R. Fooks +11 more
TL;DR: It is evident from these data that notable differences exist between amino acid sequence identity and mapped antigenic relationships within the family Flaviviridae.

Molecular phylogenetic and evolutionary analyses of Muar strain of Japanese encephalitis virus reveal it is the missing fifth genotype.
Manal Mohammed,Sareen E. Galbraith,Alan D Radford,Winifred Dove,Tomohiko Takasaki,Ichiro Kurane,Tom Solomon +6 more
TL;DR: The complete nucleotide and amino acid sequence of Muar strain was determined and it was revealed that it does represent a distinct fifth genotype of JEV, which suggests JEV originated from its ancestral virus in the mid 1500s in the Indonesia-Malaysia region and evolved there into different genotypes, which then spread across Asia.

The continued emergence of hantaviruses: isolation of a Seoul virus implicated in human disease, United Kingdom, October 2012.
Lisa J. Jameson,Christopher H. Logue,Barry Atkinson,N Baker,Sareen E. Galbraith,M W Carroll,T Brooks,Roger Hewson +7 more
TL;DR: This is the first hantavirus isolated from wildrodents in the UK and confirms the presence of a pathogenic Seoul virus in Europe and is provisionally designated as strain Humber.

A Preliminary Randomized Double Blind Placebo-Controlled Trial of Intravenous Immunoglobulin for Japanese Encephalitis in Nepal
Ajit Rayamajhi,Ajit Rayamajhi,Ajit Rayamajhi,Sam Nightingale,Nisha Keshary Bhatta,Rupa Singh,Elizabeth Ledger,Krishna Prasad Bista,Penny Lewthwaite,Chandeshwar Mahaseth,Chandeshwar Mahaseth,Lance Turtle,Jaimie S. Robinson,Sareen E. Galbraith,Małgorzata Wnęk,Barbara W. Johnson,Brian Faragher,Michael J. Griffiths,Michael J. Griffiths,Tom Solomon +19 more
TL;DR: Results from in vitro studies and animal models suggest intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG) containing virus-specific neutralizing antibody may be effective in improving outcome in viral encephalitis and appears an appealing option for JE treatment that warrants further study.
Morbillivirus Downregulation of CD46
Sareen E. Galbraith,Ashok K. Tiwari,Michael D. Baron,Brett T. Lund,Thomas Barrett,S. Louise Cosby +5 more
TL;DR: It is shown that CD46 is also downregulated to the same extent by wild-type, vaccine, and laboratory-passaged strains of rinderpest virus (RPV), although CD46 did not appear to be the receptor for RPV.
