Comparison of 24-hour Holter Monitoring with 14-day Novel Adhesive Patch Electrocardiographic Monitoring
Paddy M. Barrett,Ravi Komatireddy,Sharon Haaser,Sarah E. Topol,Judith Sheard,Jackie Encinas,Angela J. Fought,Eric J. Topol +7 more
TL;DR: Prolonged duration monitoring for detection of arrhythmia events using single-lead, less-obtrusive, adhesive-patch monitoring platforms could replace conventional Holter monitoring in patients referred for ambulatory ECG monitoring.

Whole-Genome Sequencing of a Healthy Aging Cohort
Galina Erikson,Dale L. Bodian,Manuel Rueda,Bhuvan Molparia,Erick R. Scott,Ashley A. Scott-Van Zeeland,Sarah E. Topol,Nathan E. Wineinger,John E. Niederhuber,John E. Niederhuber,Eric J. Topol,Ali Torkamani +11 more
TL;DR: The results suggest healthy aging is an overlapping but distinct phenotype from exceptional longevity that may be enriched with disease-protective genetic factors, and suggests protection against cognitive decline is a genetic component of healthy aging.

Gain-of-function ADCY5 mutations in familial dyskinesia with facial myokymia.
Ying Zhang Chen,Jennifer Friedman,Dong Hui Chen,Guy C.-K. Chan,Cinnamon S. Bloss,Fuki M. Hisama,Sarah E. Topol,Andrew R. Carson,Phillip H. Pham,Emily Bonkowski,Erick R. Scott,Janel K. Lee,Guangfa Zhang,Glenn Oliveira,Jian Xu,Ashley A. Scott-Van Zeeland,Qi Chen,Samuel Levy,Eric J. Topol,Daniel R. Storm,Phillip D. Swanson,Thomas D. Bird,Thomas D. Bird,Nicholas J. Schork,Wendy H. Raskind,Wendy H. Raskind,Ali Torkamani +26 more
TL;DR: To identify the cause of childhood onset involuntary paroxysmal choreiform and dystonic movements in 2 unrelated sporadic cases and to investigate the functional effect of missense mutations in adenylyl cyclase 5 in sporadic and inherited cases of autosomal dominant familial dyskinesia with facial myokymia (FDFM).
Characterization of Circulating Endothelial Cells in Acute Myocardial Infarction
Samir Damani,Andrea Bacconi,Ondrej Libiger,Ondrej Libiger,Aparajita H. Chourasia,Rod Serry,Raghava R. Gollapudi,Ron Goldberg,Kevin Rapeport,Sharon Haaser,Sarah E. Topol,Sharen Knowlton,Kelly Bethel,Peter Kuhn,Malcolm R. Wood,Bridget Carragher,Nicholas J. Schork,Nicholas J. Schork,John Jiang,Chandra Rao,Mark Connelly,Velia M. Fowler,Eric J. Topol,Eric J. Topol +23 more
TL;DR: Describing circulating endothelial cells (CECs) using an automated and clinically feasible CEC three-channel fluorescence microscopy assay in 50 consecutive patients with ST-segment elevation MI and 44 consecutive healthy controls suggests that tell-tale CECs may be useful in the clinic as evidence of ongoing plaque rupture and as a warning of possible heart attack in the near future.
Re-analysis of whole-exome sequencing data uncovers novel diagnostic variants and improves molecular diagnostic yields for sudden death and idiopathic diseases.
Elias L. Salfati,Emily G. Spencer,Sarah E. Topol,Evan D. Muse,Manuel Rueda,Jonathan R. Lucas,Glenn N. Wagner,Steven Campman,Eric J. Topol,Ali Torkamani +9 more
TL;DR: The findings highlight the potential for re-analysis to reveal diagnostic variants in cases that remain undiagnosed after initial WES, as well as improvement in variant classification tools, updated genetic databases, and updated clinical phenotypes.
