O ambiente industrial  envolvido em alta competitividade de mercado vem apresentando novas tecnicas de gestao, entre as quais se insere o Gerenciamento da Cadeia de Suprimentos (Supply Chain Management – SCM). O objetivo desse trabalho e analisar as praticas de SCM no setor automobilistico, em especial, o arranjo produtivo do consorcio modular. Apos a realizacao de um levantamento bibliografico sobre SCM e praticas de SCM no ramo automobilistico, foi conduzido um estudo de caso na planta da Volkswagen Caminhoes e Onibus, localizada na cidade de Resende – RJ, no qual foram entrevistados alguns dos gerentes industriais dos modulos que compoem o consorcio modular, alem de observacoes diretas efetuadas pelo pesquisador. De modo geral, pode-se constatar que o arranjo produtivo tipo Consorcio Modular  e mais adequado as atividades relacionadas a montagem do que as de fabricacao. Destaca-se tambem a maior integracao da montadora com seus fornecedores, consequencia da proximidade fisica entre os mesmos e do maior envolvimento dos fornecedores, desde o projeto ate a montagem final do veiculo.

Gerenciamento da cadeia de suprimentos no setor automobilístico: um estudo de caso no consórcio modular

This paper deals with the to the supply chain strategic management of organic products. The objective of this study is to propose a model that integrates the concepts of supply chain management (SCM), transaction costs theory (TTC) and bullwhip effect in supply chain of organic products generating propositions that will direct future empirical research. Therefore, this paper proposes that the SCM and TTC can contribute in reducing the distortion of perception of demand along the supply chain of organic products. A conceptual model relating the three variables studied was elaborated and three theoretical future empirical investigations to propositions in order to solve the problem of the bullwhip effect, namely the distortion of perception of demand along the supply chain of organic products.

Determinants of contract renewals in business-to-business relationships

RESUMO Objetivou-se neste estudo verificar a influencia da colaboracao sobre o desempenho da gestao da cadeia de suprimentos do cafe orgânico baseada na opiniao de seus gestores. Para tal, realizou-se uma pesquisa com 107 gestores com experiencia em Gestao da Cadeia de Suprimentos (SCM) do cafe orgânico. Os dados coletados, tratados pela modelagem em equacoes estruturais, apontaram relacao valida entre os constructos [SCM e Colaboracao] e [SCM e Desempenho]. No entanto, evidenciou-se que a Colaboracao nao influenciou no Desempenho Operacional. Com base nesses resultados, pode-se concluir que, embora a Colaboracao seja valida para a melhoria do Desempenho na SCM do cafe orgânico, nao foi evidenciada sua importância por parte dos executivos da area. Por fim, esta investigacao buscou contribuir para alargar o conhecimento sobre a SCM do cafe orgânico e encontrar subsidios, no ambiente corporativo, para que se possam compreender os possiveis impactos da colaboracao no desempenho operacional da SCM do cafe orgânico.

This paper discusses the reconfiguration of Brazil's tire production chain resulting from the pioneer outsourcing and vertical disintegration of the tire cord treatment units, also known as dipping units. A case study of the contractual relationship between two large multinational corporations is used as a methodological strategy. Analyses are made of the process of contractual adaptation and of the factors that may have contributed to delay the decision to restructure the tire production chain in Brazil. The Transaction Cost Economics approach was chosen as the theoretical framework, mainly due to its analytical capacity regarding the limits of action of firms or organizational networks. The empirical findings indicate the importance of specialized local suppliers as a critical factor in the restructuring of the supply chain through outsourcing strategies. The institutional environment, both formal and informal, is as relevant to the contractual process as it is to the decision-making involved in the definition of new organizational boundaries.
