Radiation effects in carbides: TiC and ZrC versus SiC
TL;DR: In this article, a comparison of the effects of irradiation observed in TiC and ZrC with those already widely investigated in SiC is provided, in the framework of the use of carbides for nuclear fuel applications, and the damage created by irradiation was evaluated by RBS-C, XRD and Raman experiments.

JANNUS: A multi-irradiation platform for experimental validation at the scale of the atomistic modelling
Yves Serruys,P. Trocellier,Sandrine Miro,E. Bordas,M.-O. Ruault,O. Kaïtasov,S. Henry,O. Leseigneur,Th. Bonnaillie,S. Pellegrino,S. Vaubaillon,Didier Uriot +11 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present a review of the multi-irradiation facilities available in the world, and a technical description of the new experimental facilities being installed is given, and the main experiments they intend to carry out using mono, dual or triple irradiation configurations in different nuclear application fields and especially in the fusion domain.

Combined effects of nuclear and electronic energy losses in solids irradiated with a dual-ion beam
Lionel Thomé,Aurélien Debelle,Frédérico Garrido,Patrick Trocellier,Yves Serruys,Gihan Velisa,Sandrine Miro +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, single and dual-beam irradiations of oxide (c-ZrO2, MgO, Gd2Ti2O7) and carbide (SiC) single crystals were performed to study combined effects of nuclear (Sn) and electronic (Se) energy losses.

Radiation effects in nuclear materials: Role of nuclear and electronic energy losses and their synergy
Lionel Thomé,Aurélien Debelle,F. Garrido,Stamatis Mylonas,B. Décamps,C. Bachelet,Gaël Sattonnay,Sandra Moll,S. Pellegrino,Sandrine Miro,P. Trocellier,Yves Serruys,Gihan Velisa,Clara Grygiel,Isabelle Monnet,Marcel Toulemonde,Patrick Simon,Jacek Jagielski,Iwona Jozwik-Biala,Lech Nowicki,Moni Behar,William J. Weber,Yanwen Zhang,Marie Backman,Kai Nordlund,Flyura Djurabekova +25 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors presented a few remarkable examples regarding ion-beam modifications of nuclear ceramics with an emphasis on the mechanisms leading to damage creation and phase transformations, and reported results recently obtained in dual-beam irradiation (DBI) experiments.

Defect recovery and damage reduction in borosilicate glasses under double ion beam irradiation
TL;DR: In this article, a sodium borosilicate glass was irradiated sequentially and simultaneously with alpha particles and gold ions, and the damage capacity of the gold ions was significantly reduced during simultaneous irradiation.
