Effect of surfactant on homogeneous regime stability in bubble column
TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of surface active agents on homogeneous-heterogeneous flow regime transition in a laboratory scale bubble column was investigated and the critical point where the homogeneous regime loses stability and the transition begins was evaluated by several methods.

Measurement accuracy of a mono-fiber optical probe in a bubbly flow
Jiří Vejražka,Marek Večeř,Marek Večeř,Sandra Orvalho,Philippe Séchet,Marek C. Ruzicka,Alain H. Cartellier +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the measurement accuracy of a mono-fiber optical probe is studied experimentally using isolated bubbles rising freely in a still liquid, and the mean dwell time of the probe tip within the gas phase, which is obtained from both the optical probe signal and high-speed visualization, is compared with the value expected for a nonperturbed bubble.

Flow regimes in slurry bubble column: Effect of column height and particle concentration
Sandra Orvalho,Masaaki Hashida,Maria Zednikova,Petr Stanovsky,Marek C. Ruzicka,Shohei Sasaki,Akio Tomiyama +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors focused on the flow regimes and gas holdup behavior in a lab-scale slurry bubble column (vertical plexiglass cylinder, 0.14m dia, total height 2'm).

Measurement of Volumetric Mass Transfer Coefficient in Bubble Columns
Maria Zednikova,Sandra Orvalho,Marie Fialová,Marek C. Ruzicka +3 more
- 01 May 2018
TL;DR: In this paper, the Dynamic Pressure Method (DPM) was used for measuring the mass transport in bubble columns and to provide reliable data of volumetric mass transfer coefficient in the pure heterogeneous flow regime.
