Sinusoidal endothelial COX-1-derived prostanoids modulate the hepatic vascular tone of cirrhotic rat livers.
TL;DR: CCl(4) cirrhotic rat liver exhibits a hyperresponse to the alpha(1)-adrenergic agonist methoxamine (Mtx) that is associated with enhanced thromboxane A(2) (TXA(2)) production and is abrogated by indomethacin.

Identification and functional characterization of the hepatic stellate cell CD38 cell surface molecule.
Sandra March,Mariona Graupera,Maria Rosa Sarrias,Francisco Lozano,Pilar Pizcueta,Jaume Bosch,Pablo Engel +6 more
TL;DR: The data suggest that CD38 can act as a regulator of HSC activation and effector functions.
P-selectin mediates leukocyte rolling in concanavalin-A-induced hepatitis.
Sandra March,J.C. Garcia-Pagan,Anna Massaguer,Pilar Pizcueta,Julián Panés,Pablo Engel,Jaume Bosch +6 more
TL;DR: Concanavalin‐ A (Con‐A)‐induced hepatitis is an experimental model of human autoimmune hepatitis characterized by leukocyte activation and infiltration of the liver and the role of P‐selectin on leukocytes–endothelial interactions within the hepatic microvasculature is evaluated.

Differential expression of SAP and EAT-2 binding leukocyte cell-surface molecules CD84, CD150 (SLAM), CD229 (Ly9) and CD244 (2B4).
TL;DR: A broader distribution of CD84, CD150, CD229, and CD244 cell-surface receptors is described than previously reported and it is shown that they are differentially expressed on hematopoietic cells.
Characterization of platelet and soluble-porcine P-selectin (CD62P).
Anna Massaguer,Pablo Engel,Victoria Tovar,Sandra March,Montserrat Rigol,Montserrat Rigol,Núria Solanes,Núria Solanes,Jaume Bosch,Pilar Pizcueta +9 more
TL;DR: P-selectin expression on platelet membrane was rapidly induced by PMA and thrombin, as assessed by flow cytometry, and analysis of the proteolytic cleavage of this protein from COS-transfected cells revealed that PMA treatment failed to cause the shedding of membrane-bound P- selectin.
