Lathe boring operation on ASTM A304 steel parameter optimization using response surface methodology

This paper presents designing of capacitive fed and electromagnetic coupled MSA. These are designed to overcome the disadvantage of MSA i.e. narrow bandwidth. The antenna design is simulated using HFSS software. Antenna is designed at frequency of 2.4 GHz. Capacitive fed antenna provides wide bandwidth. It’s working frequency range 2.275-2.905GHz with return loss of less than -10 db. Capacitive fed with electromagnetic coupling MSA antenna works on frequency range 1.915-2.83GHz. Hence bandwidth enhancement can be obtained by ECMSA. The proposed antenna designs can be used in WLAN band 2.4 GHz, USB dongle, UTMS & Bluetooth communication.

Multi-objective optimization in turning of Al 7075-SiC composites using desirability analysis

This paper embarks the machining parameters of Turning by optimization using Taguchi’s approach. The optimization is very essential in order to obtain the expected surface quality. The results of cutting parameters of optimization is seen in the Surface Roughness, Tool wear and MRR of the material. The L18 Orthogonal array has been chosen for the optimization of Valve Steel SUH03.The uncoated carbide inserts were used and the four parameters Speed, Feed, Depth of Cut and Nose Radius has been taken as input parameters. The Signal to Noise ratio and Analysis of Variance software has been analyzed using Minitab software through which the optimal cutting parameters of the best surface roughness, tool wear and MRR has been obtained. The final results have been compared by the Gray relational analysis to find the optimum machining conditions of all the parameters.

Optimization of Machining Parameters of Valve Steel SUH03 (X45CrSiMo10-2) Using Gray Based Taguchi Method

A dual-band capacitive coupled planar inverted F antenna is presented. The antenna operates in two bands centered around 1.5GHz and 2.4GHz with nearly omnidirectional radiation pattern in the entire operating band. It ofiers a peak gain of 2.4dBi at 1.5GHz and 7dBi at 2.4GHz with an average e-ciency of 82%, 97% respectively. Efiects of key design parameters such as the distance between feed strip and radiator patch, the dimensions of the feed strip on the input characteristics of the antenna and length of slot have been investigated and discussed. The antenna is compact and easy to fabricate. The antenna has an overall dimension of 10 £ 40 £ 6mm 3 , fabricated on substrate of dielectric constant 4.4 and thickness 1.6mm.

Engineering materials are presently in use at a very vast range in today’s industries. As Mild steel 1018 has a wide variety of applications in construction of pipelines, products, construction as structural steel, car manufacturing industries and other major industries. The machining of these types of materials requires very important consideration. There are a number of parameters like cutting speed, feed and depth of cut etc. which must be given consideration during the machining of this alloy. So it becomes necessary to find out the ways by which it can be machined easily and economically. For the present work the parameter to be optimised selected is material removal rate that is optimised by using selected combination of machining parameters by using taguchi orthogonal array.

Optimization of Material Removal Rate in Cnc Turning of Mild Steel 1018 Using Taguchi Method

In this paper design and analysis of capacitively fed wideband microstrip antenna suspended above the ground plane is presented. It is demonstrated that the proposed antenna can be used for wideband application with impedance bandwidth of about 51.13% at center frequency 7.255 GHz with a good gain in various microwave bands (C and X band). This antenna has utilized the concept of capacitive coupling for bandwidth enhancement. Suspension of structure above ground plane has also been utilized for the enhancement of bandwidth. In this proposed antenna probe feeding is provided to the feed strip and the parasitic patch is excited by the capacitive coupling. The antenna configuration can be used where unidirectional radiation patterns are required over a wide bandwidth. All the simulation work is done using IE3D software.
