Raising the NKT cell family
TL;DR: It is important to understand the mechanisms that regulate the development and maintenance of NKT cells and subsets thereof, which is the subject of this review.

DOCK8 is critical for the survival and function of NKT cells
Greg Crawford,Anselm Enders,Uzi Gileadi,Sanda Stankovic,Qian Zhang,Teresa Lambe,Tanya L. Crockford,Helen Lockstone,Alexandra F. Freeman,Peter D. Arkwright,Joanne Smart,Cindy S. Ma,Stuart G. Tangye,Christopher C. Goodnow,Vincenzo Cerundolo,Dale I. Godfrey,Helen C. Su,Katrina L. Randall,Richard J. Cornall +18 more
TL;DR: Impaired NKT cell numbers and function are likely to contribute to the susceptibility of DOCK8-deficient patients to recurrent infections and malignant disease, consistent with the idea that Dock8 mediates survival signals within a specialized niche.

TCRγδ Intraepithelial Lymphocytes Are Required for Self-Tolerance
TL;DR: It is concluded that TCRγδ IEL at the mucosal interface between self and nonself play a key role in maintaining peripheral tolerance both physiologically and during oral tolerance induction.

Classical Type 1 Dendritic Cells Dominate Priming of Th1 Responses to Herpes Simplex Virus Type 1 Skin Infection.
Christopher M. Harpur,Yu Kato,Shinta T. Dewi,Sanda Stankovic,Darryl N. Johnson,Sammy Bedoui,Paul G. Whitney,Mireille H. Lahoud,Irina Caminschi,Irina Caminschi,William R. Heath,Andrew G. Brooks,Thomas Gebhardt +12 more
TL;DR: Th1 differentiation after UV-HSV inoculation was rescued by targeted Ag delivery to CD8α+ and CD103+ cDC1 using an anti-Clec9A Ab construct, which suggests that Ag presentation by c DC1 is crucial for optimal Th1 immunity to HSV type 1 infection and potentially other pathogens of the skin.

Structural plasticity of KIR2DL2 and KIR2DL3 enables altered docking geometries atop HLA-C
Shoeib Moradi,Sanda Stankovic,Geraldine Martina O'Connor,Phillip Pymm,Phillip Pymm,Bruce J. MacLachlan,Camilla Faoro,Christelle Retière,Lucy C. Sullivan,Philippa M. Saunders,Jacqueline M.L. Widjaja,Shea Cox-Livingstone,Jamie Rossjohn,Jamie Rossjohn,Jamie Rossjohn,Andrew G. Brooks,Julian P. Vivian,Julian P. Vivian +17 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the crystal structures of inhibitory killer-cell immunoglobulin-like receptors (KIR), KIR2DL2 and KIR 2DL3 were determined in complex with HLA-C*07:02 presenting a self-epitope.
