Sustained virological and histological response with pretransplant interferon therapy in renal transplant patients with chronic viral hepatitis C.
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that interferon therapy while on dialysis is associated with less viremia and decreased progression of chronic liver disease in renal transplant patients with hepatitis C.

TL;DR: Seven sickle cell disease patients suffering from a severe form of the disease were enrolled in a treatment protocol using hydroxyurea (HU) for up to 12 months followed by a combination therapy with HU and human recombinant erythropoietin (rHuEpo; using 400 U/kg/week i.v.) for 3-4 weeks.

TL;DR: It is confirmed that there are routes other than blood transfusion involved in the transmission of the HCV and there is a need to determine these routes in order to prevent the spread of this virus.

TL;DR: The duration of catheterization was found to have no relation with either thrombosis or infection, and there was no significant difference of infection between diabetic and nondia betic chronic renal failure patients.
