Optically-dense alkali-metal vapor cells with low optical losses are widely used in quantum precision measurements, yet atomic behaviors in coated cells still need further study. We developed an octadecyltrichlorosilane (OTS) anti-relaxation and dielectric anti-reflection coated multipass optical cell filled with rubidium vapor at high density, and investigated the spin relaxation as well as the spin noise of the atomic ensembles. High contrast spin noise spectrum was observed and we find that the quantum coherence lifetime is equal to the classical transverse spin relaxation time. Number density measurements give the spin-exchange possibility of 14% between rubidium atoms trapped in the coating.

Abstract Polarization of alkali vapor is a key parameter in the atomic magnetometer's response to the applied magnetic field. In this paper, estimating polarization is used by studying the transmission behavior of the pump beam as a function of intensity. In our study, the transmission of circularly polarized light exhibits nontrivial features such as nonlinear absorption and relaxation. The advantages of this method are its simplicity for characterizing polarization and its accuracy. The intensity and wavelength of the pumping laser are considered for studying polarization changes and polarization gradient. This method could apply directly to the quantum computing in devices like memory, gate, clock, and for reference cell. Also, this method is fast, reliable and accurate and doesn't need on resonance detection which makes it more suitable for ZULF NMR detection.

The wavefront reconstruction is a crucial step in determining the performance of wavefront detection instruments. The wavefront reconstruction algorithm is primarily evaluated in three dimensions: accuracy, speed, and noise immunity. In this paper, we propose a hybrid zonal reconstruction algorithm that introduces slope and curvature information in the diagonal, anti-diagonal, horizontal, and vertical directions by dividing the neighbor sampling points into subregions in groups of four. By canceling the same parameters in integration equations, an algorithm using multi-directional slope–curvature information is achieved with only two sets of integration equations in each subregion, reducing the processing time. Simulation experiments show that the relative root-mean-square reconstruction error of this algorithm is improved by about 4 orders of magnitude compared with existing algorithms that use multi-directional slope information or slope–curvature information alone. Compared with the hybrid multi-directional slope–curvature algorithm, the proposed algorithm can reduce computation time by about 50% as well as provide better noise immunity and reconstruction accuracy. Finally, the validity of the proposed algorithm is verified by the null test experiment.

Measurement of trapping force with Shack Hartmann sensor, which is done in this paper, offers many advantages. It opens a way for phase and force measurement at the same time. In line alignment, correcting optical beam aberration, OPD and nonlinear refractive index measurement of the trapped particle is easily achievable with phase measurement. The new method is as accurate as old methods and has high precision since it can be evaluated by a single measurement of Shack Hartmann sensor in millisecond. Also mapping laser beam spot in trapping site may lead to further discovery in the potential well studies.

Aberration correction was one of the most important and challenging parts of optical trapping systems. Many works try to overcome aberration which is due to trapping setup itself or refractive index mismatch of glass slab and nanoparticles solutions. In this article, we investigate a new method for aberration correction based on a nonlinear refractive index of materials. With the emitting laser to the trapped particle, the refractive index of the trapping site increases and as a result, its aberration reduce. In accordance, this method offers a simple and low-cost way for increasing trapping stiffness.
