The antioxidant and free-radical scavenging activities of extract and fractions from corn silk (Zea mays L.) and related flavone glycosides
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors evaluated both the antioxidant and free-radical scavenging activities of extract and fractions from corn silk and identified two flavone glycosides showing potent antioxidant activity were isolated from BF and identified, by comparing spectral data (UV, FAB-MS and NMR) with literature values, to be isoorientin-2″- O - α - l -rhamnoside and 3′-methoxymaysin.

Subchronic toxicity study of corn silk with rats.
Cuina Wang,Tiehua Zhang,Jun Liu,S.Y. Lu,Cheng Zhang,Erlei Wang,Zuozhao Wang,Yan Zhang,Jingbo Liu +8 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a sub-chronic toxicity assessment of corn silk was performed in male and female Wistar rats by dietary administration at concentrations of 0.5, 2.0, and 8.0% for 90 days.

A rapid immunomagnetic beads-based immunoassay for the detection of β-casein in bovine milk.
F. Song,Y. Zhou,Yu Li,Xian-Mei Meng,X.Y. Meng,J.Q. Liu,S.Y. Lu,Hong-Lin Ren,Ping Hu,Zhongying Liu,Y.Y. Zhang,Junhu Zhang +11 more
TL;DR: Application results were in accordance with the Kjejdahl method, which suggests the IMBs-ELISA is rapid and reliable for the detection of β-casein in bovine milk.

Magnetic bead and gold nanoparticle probes based immunoassay for β-casein detection in bovine milk samples.
Yaru Li,X.Y. Meng,Y. Zhou,Y.Y. Zhang,Xianwei Meng,Li-Ming Yang,Ping Hu,S.Y. Lu,Hong-Lin Ren,Zhongying Liu,Wang Xiaoyu +10 more
TL;DR: For higher sensitivity, simple sample pretreatment and shorter time requirement of the antigen-antibody reaction, the developed immunoassay demonstrated the viability for detection of β-casein in bovine milk samples.
