Effects of Zinc Status on Expression of Zinc Transporters, Redox-Related Enzymes and Insulin-like Growth Factor in Asian Sea Bass Cells
TL;DR: In this article , the effects of zinc deficiency on the expression of genes related to the redox balance and growth hormone metabolism were analyzed using RT-PCR, showing that zinc deficiency induces a stress response in cells from Asian sea bass, which may be avoided when sufficient amounts of zinc are provided to the cells.
Single-Nucleotide Polymorphisms in Calpastatin (CAST) and Micro-Calpain (CAPN1) Genes Influencing Meat Tenderness in Crossbred Beef Cattle in Thailand
Thanathip Thaloengsakdadech,S. Triwutanon,P. Lertwatcharasarakul,Nitipong Homwong,Theera Rukkwamsuk +4 more
TL;DR: This study investigates single-nucleotide polymorphisms in CAPN1 and CAST genes to predict meat tenderness in crossbred beef cattle in Thailand, finding significant effects on meat quality traits and identifying CAPN1 4751 as a potential marker for genetic selection.
Factors affecting first ovulation in postpartum dairy cows under tropical conditions: A review
TL;DR: Factors affecting first ovulation in postpartum dairy cows under tropical conditions are mainly related to negative energy balance, metabolic disorders, uterine pathology, udder health, lameness, and heat stress.
Detection of Booroola Polymorphism of Bone Morphogenetic Protein Receptor 1b and Embrapa Polymorphism of Growth Differentiation Factor 9 in Sheep in Thailand
Poothana Sae-Foo,S. Triwutanon,Theera Rukkwamsuk +2 more
TL;DR: Detection of Booroola and Embrapa polymorphisms in sheep in Thailand revealed the presence of both FecB and FecGE mutations and their association with prolificacy.
