Indoor radon levels in schools of South-East Italy.
TL;DR: The final findings relating to measurements performed with SSNTD dosemeters in 438 schools (86% of the sample) are reported, and about 7% of schools showed radon concentration values above 500 Bq/m(3), the Italian action level for workplaces.

A study on natural radioactivity and radon exhalation rate in building materials containing norm residues: preliminary results
Federica Leonardi,Michał Bonczyk,Cristina Nuccetelli,Małgorzata Wysocka,B. Michalik,M. Ampollini,S. Tonnarini,J. A. Rubin,K. Niedbalska,Rosabianca Trevisi +9 more
TL;DR: In this article, a study on the physical and radiological characterization of concrete samples containing NORM has been conducted and the radionuclide content in terms of 226Ra, 228Ra, 232Th, 40K and radon exhalation rate of the samples were determined.

A pilot study on natural radioactivity in schools of south-east Italy.
Rosabianca Trevisi,Anna Paola Caricato,Marco D'Alessandro,M. Fernandez,Federica Leonardi,Armando Luches,S. Tonnarini,Miriam Veschetti +7 more
TL;DR: Average radon concentration and average absorbed dose rate in air due to gamma radiation have been assessed by using solid state nuclear track detectors (SSNTD) and electret ionization chambers (EIC), as well as thermoluminescence dosimeters (TLD), respectively.

An extended study of the etching characteristics of CR-39 detectors
Federica Leonardi,Marco Caresana,Marco D'Alessandro,Rosaline Mishra,S. Tonnarini,Rosabianca Trevisi,Miriam Veschetti +6 more
TL;DR: An analysis concerning the bulk etch rate of different types of CR-39 subjected to a chemical etching in 54 N KOH solution at 80 °C is carried out in this paper.

Radon Spatial Variations in University’s Buildings Located in an Italian Karst Region
Federica Leonardi,Teresa Botti,Giuliana Buresti,Anna Paola Caricato,Alberto Chezzi,Carlo Pepe,Sabina Spagnolo,S. Tonnarini,Miriam Veschetti,Rosabianca Trevisi +9 more
TL;DR: In this article, an indoor radon survey in 54 buildings belonging to the UniSalento University (Southeast Italy) was carried out, where the spatial variability within buildings was investigated in terms of variation between floors and among rooms at the same floor.
