The LHC superconducting cavities
Daniel Boussard,E. Chiaveri,E. Haebel,H.P. Kindermann,R. Losito,S. Marque,V. Rodel,M. Stirbet +7 more
- 27 Mar 1999
TL;DR: The first test results of the prototype are reported in this article, and four-unit modules are ultimately foreseen for the LHC (two per beam), while at present a prototype version with two complete units is being extensively tested.
Technical developments on reduced-/spl beta/ superconducting cavities at CERN
Oliver Aberle,Daniel Boussard,Sergio Calatroni,Enrico Chiaveri,E. Haebel,R. Hanni,Roberto Losito,S. Marque,Joachim Tückmantel +8 more
- 01 Mar 1999
TL;DR: In this article, the authors proposed the construction of superconducting proton linacs using the LEP2 cavities once LEP will be decommissioned, but only a fraction of these cavities can be used as they are for the high-energy part (/spl beta//spl sim/1) of such a linac, the low energy part requiring the development of accelerating structures optimized for lower values of the particle velocity.

Coupled analysis of electromagnetic, thermo- mechanical effects on rf accelerating structures
R. Losito,S. Marque +1 more
- 01 May 2002
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors explored the possibility of using ANSYS ® to perform such simulations in a single environment and found that the most common problems of interaction between electromagnetic fields and thermo-mechanical effects are presented and, when possible, compared to measurements.
Super-3hc cryomodule: layout and first tests
P. Bosland,S. Chel,G. Devanz,M. Luong,M. Maurier,P. Marchand,M. Pedrozzi,A. Anghel,M. Svandrlik,Paolo Craievich,A. Fabris,C. Pasotti,Giuseppe Penco,Sincrotrone Trieste,E. Chiaveri,R. Losito,S. Marque +16 more
- 01 Jan 2002
TL;DR: In this paper, two identical cryomodules, developed at Saclay, will be assembled, tested and installed during 2002 at the 3rd generation light sources SLS and ELETTRA, each of which contains a third harmonic superconducting RF system composed by two passive 1500 MHz Nb/Cu single-cell-cavities.
First operational results of the 3rd harmonic superconducting cavities in SLS and ELETTRA
Marco Pedrozzi,W. Gloor,A. Anghel,M Svandrlik,G. Penco,P Craievich,A. Fabris,C. Pasotti,E. Chiaveri,R. Losito,S. Marque,Oliver Aberle,P. Marchand,P. Bosland,S. Chel,P. Bredy,G. Devanz +16 more
- 12 May 2003
TL;DR: In this paper, a complementary 3rd harmonic (1.5 GHz) idle superconducting RF system has been recently implemented and commissioned, in order to lengthen the bunches and therefore improve the Touschek dominated beam lifetime.
