TL;DR: In this article, the reaction time of the deeply inelastic reaction in 8.5 MeV/u 84Kr+27Al was estimated to be 8 × 10-21 s by extracting pre-scission α and proton multiplicities and by statistical model (PACE4) calculations.

TL;DR: An asymmetry in the angular correlation relative to the beam direction was found which cannot be explained in the fusion-fission reaction mechanism framework as discussed by the authors, which may imply the domination of deeply inelastic collisions over the complete fusion in the reaction.
