Radiological-pathological correlation of negative CT biopsy results enables high negative predictive value for thoracic malignancy.
Joseph Barnett,I. Pulzato,M. Javed,Y.J. Lee,A. Choraria,S. Kemp,Alexandra Rice,Simon Jordan,Pallav L. Shah,Andrew G. Nicholson,Simon P. G. Padley,Anand Devaraj +11 more
TL;DR: Combining radiological-pathological interpretation of negative biopsy results offers superior negative predictive value for lung malignancy without delayed diagnosis of lung cancer.

P1.12-05 Prediction of Clinically Significant Pathological Upstaging in Resected Lung Cancer: Insight from COVID-19 Pandemic (1st wave)
Y. Zhang,A G Nicholson,F. Ly,Alexandra Rice,Jan-Lukas Robertus,E. Lim,Sofina Begum,Silviu Buderi,Vladimir Anikin,Jonathan Finch,N. Asadi,Sanjay Popat,Fiona McDonald,P. De Sousa,Philip L. TL;DR: In this article , a 3-tier risk stratification system was developed to identify independent predictors of upstaging compared to a pre-pandemic cohort, including radiological lesion size, nodal status, Maximum Standard Unit Value (SUVmax), and histological risk group.
P139 Atelectasis following bronchoscopic lung volume reduction (BLVR) is associated with improved survival in COPD
Nicholas S Hopkinson,S. Kemp,Tudor P. Toma,David M. Hansell,Duncan M. Geddes,Pallav L. Shah,Michael I. Polkey +6 more
TL;DR: Bronchoscopic lung volume reduction (BLVR), using endobronchial valves to target unilateral lobar occlusion in patients with heterogeneous emphysema has been shown to improve lung function and exercise capacity and atelectasis following BLVR is associated with a survival benefit which is not explained by differences at baseline.
Learning curves for endobronchial ultrasound using cusum analysis
S. Kemp,S H El Batrawy,R N Harrison,K Skwarski,M Munavvar,A Roselli,K Cusworth,Pallav L. Shah +7 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that the learning curve for EBUS is greater than previously reported using different methods, and that even experienced bronchoscopists vary in their speed of learning.
