Dynamic recrystallisation and the development of microstructure during the high temperature deformation of magnesium
TL;DR: The mechanism of dynamic recrystallisation at temperatures between 425 and 600 K is reported to not involve significant high angle boundary migration, but to be similar to a mechanism reported for several minerals.

Large strain deformation studies using polycrystalline magnesium as a rock analogue. Part I: grain size paleopiezometry in mylonite zones
TL;DR: The results of large strain deformation studies of polycrystalline magnesium are reported in this article, showing that the recrystallised grains in the areas bordering the shear zones undergo a strain dependent coarsening and their sizes re-equilibrate to the relaxed stresses at natural strains of 1.65 Tm for strain rates between 10−4−10−5 s−1.
