Digital audio steganography: Systematic review, classification, and analysis of the current state of the art

This paper suggests a new proposed algorithm for encryption/ decryption audio files based on discrete wavelet transform (DWT) and biometric features to provide a high level of confidentiality and reliability. The proposed algorithm used number of hand geometry measurements properties as keys to encode and decode the audio file, combine with using the discrete wavelet transform (DWT) in order to increase the efficiency of the encryption process. Subjective and objective measures are applied to the resulted signal. They cleared that the retrieved audio signal has very acceptable loosing of its data with certain keeping the main decrypted message in a good understanding on the receiver side. This achieves the major target of encryption processing.

A novel approach for audio file encryption using hand geometry

The present work carries out a descriptive analysis of the main steganography techniques used in specific digital media such as audio and image files. For this purpose, a literary review of the domains, methods, and techniques as part of this set was carried out and their functioning, qualities, and weaknesses are identified. Hence, it is concluded that there is a wide relationship between audio and image steganography techniques in their implementation form. Nevertheless, it is determined that LSB is one of the weakest techniques, but the safest and the most robust technique within each type of the presented medium.

Securing Hill encrypted information With Audio steganography: a New Substitution Method

Steganography is the hiding secret message in the various media and very popular in today network transmission and information security. Although many of the secure transmission have been done in digital image, a little work has been done in audio mp3 file. Hiding data in mp3 file is the most researchable area and preferable way to carry secret data. Therefore this paper proposes a way of hiding secret message into mp3 file by using LSB, Least Significant Bit technique and Echo Hiding. LSB is the most popular steganographic technique but there is a weak point in including noise, compression technique and extraction process. To compensate that weakness, the combination of Echo Hiding in time spectrum is proposed. The integration is used in serial. To test the effectives of the methods, various types of genres is prepared in different compression rates. The experimental results are carried out for different size of the secret message files.

Secure Data Transmission in MP3 file using LSB and Echo Hiding

Information security is one of the main factors to be considered when internet is used for secret information transmission. Secret data transmitted over the network must be protected from malicious or conspicuous users. Steganography is one of the foremost and fast developing techniques currently used in network to send the secret data without being distracted and which is a better technique than the earlier commonly used cryptography. In steganography a carrier signal is used for the secure transmission of secret information. The secret information is concealed in the carrier and transmitted. Audio steganography uses audio signals to hide the secret information. In the proposed audio steganography technique, cover audio file is transformed from time domain to wavelet domain using Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT), leading to secure data hiding. Text message is encrypted using dynamic encryption algorithm. Cipher text is then hidden in wavelet coefficients of cover audio signal. Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR) and Squared Pearson Correlation Coefficient (SPCC) values are computed to judge the quality of the stego audio signal. Results show that stego audio signal is perceptually indistinguishable from the cover audio signal. Stego audio signal is robust against common signal processing attacks such as cropping, filtering, noise addition, resampling etc. Proposed method provides secure and least error data extraction.

Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR) and Squared Pearson Correlation Coefficient (SPCC)values are computed to judge the quality of the stego audio signal. Results show that stego audio signal is perceptually indistinguishable from the cover audio signal. Stego audio signal is robust even in presence of external noise. Proposed method provides secure and least error data extraction.
