Hydrogen desorption from magnesium hydride-graphite nanocomposites produced by ball milling
TL;DR: In this paper, the phase analysis of MgH2-graphite composites produced by ball milling was performed using X-ray diffraction and a home-made Sievert apparatus.

Synthesis, structure and optical properties of GaN nanocrystals prepared by sequential ion implantation in dielectrics
E. Borsella,S. Dal Toè,Giovanni Mattei,Chiara Maurizio,Paolo Mazzoldi,A. Saber,Giancarlo Battaglin,Elti Cattaruzza,Francesco Gonella,Alberto Quaranta,Alberto Quaranta,Francesco d'Acapito +11 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a blue shift of the near band-edge photoluminescence (quantum confinement effect) was observed for GaN nanocrystals with a size of ∼2-3 nm, formed in the α-Al2O3 substrate.

The nature of the hydrogen bond in the LaNiSnH2 and NdNiSnH hydrides.
T. Spataru,Petru Palade,G. Principi,Peter Blaha,Karlheinz Schwarz,Victor Kuncser,S. Lo Russo,S. Dal Toè,V. A. Yartys +8 more
TL;DR: The electronic structure of LaNiSn and NdNiSn compounds and their hydrides has been studied by first principles calculations and variable temperature Sn119 Mossbauer spectroscopy and the nature of the hydrogen-metal bond is discussed as mentioned in this paper.

Multilayer adsorption of gases in solids
TL;DR: In this article, the Ono-Kondo lattice model was used to investigate the gas adaption phenomena of solids in solids and the density profile of the layers was presented.

Mössbauer study of LaNiSn and NdNiSn compounds and their deuterides
Petru Palade,G. Principi,T. Spataru,Peter Blaha,Karlheinz Schwarz,Victor Kuncser,S. Lo Russo,S. Dal Toè,V. A. Yartys +8 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the hyperfine parameters obtained experimentally are in good agreement with those derived from first principle calculations, and the enlargement of quadrupole splitting observed for LaNiSn after deuteration confirms the lower symmetry of electron density around tin atoms indicated by the calculation of partial Sn-p density of states (DOS).
