TL;DR: Overall the effect of anxiety diagnoses in predicting PPD was stronger at the 1st month than during the 1 first year postpartum, and an antenatal screening of specific anxiety diagnoses could be extremely useful for the prevention of possible post partum distress outcomes.

TL;DR: This study shows that there is a higher prevalence of PSY in PFD patients than in controls in particular, anxiety disorders and the phobic-anxious temperament, and it is recommended that a psychiatric evaluation be carried out in patients with PFD, especially before starting rehabilitation therapy for obstructed defecation.
