Remarkably Adherent, Thick And Tough Chromia (Cr2 O3) Coatings On Steel Made By A Laser Process
TL;DR: The reported bulk microhardness of Cr 2 O 3 is 29.5 GPa according to Samsonov and Manning (1990), making it second among all oxides, even above sapphire as discussed by the authors.

Backfill-Waste Interactions in Repository Simulating Tests
TL;DR: In this paper, backfill materials such as montmorillonite and clinoptilolite with and without the presence of simulated nuclear waste solids such as borosilicate glass, glass ceramic, sintered ceramic and supercalcine ceramic were investigated under repository simulating conditions.

Catalysis of low temperature synthesis of ceramics
Rustum Roy
- 01 Jan 1994
TL;DR: Several different methods, used by his group over the last 40 years, are described in some detail in this paper, and results show that several of these methods can accelerate reactions of the most common oxides by 1-2 orders of magnitude, and will therefore be technologically significant.
