Isolation and molecular characterization of Vibrio parahaemolyticus from fresh, low-temperature preserved, dried, and salted seafood products in two coastal areas of eastern China.
TL;DR: The presence of toxigenic V. parahaemolyticus in Chinese markets is confirmed not only in fresh but also in iced and frozen seafood products indicating that low-temperature preserved seafood might be also a vehicle for transmitting pathogenic V.Parahaemoleticus.

Probiotic properties of lactic acid bacteria isolated from stool samples of longevous people in regions of Hotan, Xinjiang and Bama, Guangxi, China.
TL;DR: These strains were evaluated by in vitro methods including survival upon exposure to pH 2.0, 3.0 and/or 0.3% oxgall and adhesion to the human colon adenocarcinoma cell line Caco-2 as well as antimicrobial activity against potential pathogens.

The Effect of Different Organic Acids and Their Combination on the Cell Barrier and Biofilm of Escherichia coli
Qing-Yang Ji,Wenqiong Wang,Haodong Yan,Hengxian Qu,Yang Liu,Yi Qian,Ruixia Gu +6 more
TL;DR: It is shown that the three–three combination of acetic, lactic acid, and a third organic acid (butyric, citric, or malic) can play a better synergistic antibacterial effect than the two-pair combination of Acetic and lactic Acid.

Ultrafast and Energy-saving Synthesis of Nitrogen and Chlorine Co-doped Carbon Nanodots via Neutralization Heat for Selective Detection of Cr(VI) in Aqueous Phase.
TL;DR: This work highlights the development of a simple, ultrafast, and energy-saving one-step synthetic route to fabricate N,Cl-CDs for highly selective and sensitive detection of Cr(VI) in real water samples.
