High-throughput mapping of a whole rhesus monkey brain at micrometer resolution.
Fang Xu,Fang Xu,Yan Shen,Lufeng Ding,Chao-Yu Yang,Heng Tan,Heng Tan,Hao Wang,Zhu Qingyuan,Rui Xu,Fengyi Wu,Yanyang Xiao,Cheng Xu,Qianwei Li,Peng Su,Li I. Zhang,Hong-Wei Dong,Robert Desimone,Fuqiang Xu,Fuqiang Xu,Xintian Hu,Xintian Hu,Pak-Ming Lau,Guo-Qiang Bi +23 more
TL;DR: The serial sectioning and clearing, three-dimensional microscopy with semiautomated reconstruction and tracing (SMART) as mentioned in this paper enables effective connectome-scale mapping of large primate brains.

The role of prefrontal cortex in the control of feature attention in area V4.
TL;DR: Inactivation of the ventral prearcuate region leads to deficits in picking out a target among many stimuli as well as eliminates the feature based modulation of responses of V4 neurons, suggesting that feedback from VPA modulates processing in visual cortex during attention to object features.
Microstimulation of primate neocortex targeting striosomes induces negative decision-making
Satoko Amemori,Satoko Amemori,Ken-ichi Amemori,Ken-ichi Amemori,Tomoko Yoshida,Tomoko Yoshida,Georgios K. Papageorgiou,Georgios K. Papageorgiou,Rui Xu,Rui Xu,Hideki Shimazu,Hideki Shimazu,Robert Desimone,Robert Desimone,Ann M. Graybiel,Ann M. Graybiel +15 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that micro Stimulation in an anesthetized monkey at sites pre‐identified as affecting Ap‐Av choices induced blood oxygen level dependent activation of the anterior striatum, confirming that the microstimulation method that was applied was effective in activating the striatum.

A new approach to mitigate the effect of force variation on pattern recognition for myoelectric control
Xiangxin Li,Rui Xu,Oluwarotimi Williams Samuel,Lan Tian,Haiqing Zou,Xiufeng Zhang,Shixiong Chen,Peng Fang,Guanglin Li +8 more
- 01 Aug 2016
TL;DR: A Parallel Classification Strategy consisting of three parallel classifiers created at low, medium, and high force levels, respectively, and a regulation to categorize the input signals into corresponding classifiers for pattern recognition is proposed.

Microstimulation of primate neocortex targeting striosomes induces negative decision-making
Satoko Amemori,Ken-ichi Amemori,Tomoko Yoshida,Georgios K. Papageorgiou,Rui Xu,Hideki Shimazu,Robert Desimone,Ann M. Graybiel +7 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that circumscribed pACC and cOFC microstimulation sites that induce negative decision-making preferentially project to striosomes in the anterior striatum.
