Riparian vegetation responses to altered flow regimes driven by climate change in Mediterranean rivers
Rui Rivaes,Patricia María Rodríguez-González,António Albuquerque,António N. Pinheiro,Gregory Egger,Maria Teresa Ferreira +5 more
TL;DR: Rui Rivaes,* Patricia M. Rodriguez-Gonzalez, Antonio Albuquerque, Antonio N. Pinheiro, Gregory Egger and Maria Teresa Ferreira as discussed by the authors

Modeling the evolution of riparian woodlands facing climate change in three European rivers with contrasting flow regimes.
Rui Rivaes,Patricia María Rodríguez-González,Maria Teresa Ferreira,António N. Pinheiro,Emilio Politti,Gregory Egger,Alicia García-Arias,Félix Francés +7 more
TL;DR: Assessment of the effects of climate-changed flow regimes on the existing riparian vegetation of three different European flow regimes shows that riparian woodlands may undergo not only at least moderate changes for all flow regimes, but also some dramatic adjustments in specific areas of particular vegetation development stages.
Implementing a dynamic riparian vegetation model in three European river systems
Alicia García-Arias,Félix Francés,Teresa Ferreira,Gregory Egger,Francisco Martínez-Capel,Virginia Garófano-Gómez,Ignacio Andrés-Doménech,Emilio Politti,Rui Rivaes,Patricia María Rodríguez-González +9 more
TL;DR: Rodriguez-Gonzalez et al. as mentioned in this paper used a postdoctoral grant from FCT (SFRH/BPD/47140/2008) for hydraulic modeling.
Sensitivity of black alder (Alnus glutinosa [L.] Gaertn.) growth to hydrological changes in wetland forests at the rear edge of the species distribution
Patricia María Rodríguez-González,Filipe Campelo,António Albuquerque,Rui Rivaes,Teresa Ferreira,João Pereira +5 more
TL;DR: In this article, the long-term environmental signal of black alder on a river system in southern Portugal was determined on trees located in different geomorphological position across the floodplain.

Structural microhabitat use by endemic cyprinids in a Mediterranean‐type river: Implications for restoration practices
TL;DR: In this paper, the seasonal and size-related microhabitat use of three endemic cyprinids (Iberian barbel, Luciobarbus bocagei; Iberian straight-mouth nase, Pseudochondrostoma polylepis; and calandino, Squalius alburnoides) using a modified point electrofishing procedure in a Mediterranean river was assessed.
