Study of columnar growth, texture development and wettability of reactively sputter-deposited TiN, ZrN and HfN thin films at glancing angle incidence
TL;DR: In this paper, the growth morphology and variation in column tilt angle is well reproduced by considering the difference in the angular distribution of the sputtered particles, and the wettability of these coatings was investigated using the sessile drop method with three different liquids.
Texture and Stress Evolution in HfN Films Sputter-Deposited at Oblique Angles
TL;DR: In this paper, column tilt angle, texture development and residual stress evolution of polycrystalline hafnium nitride (HfN) thin films with varying inclination angle α of the substrate was investigated.

Effect of temperature on the growth of TiN thin films by oblique angle sputter-deposition: A three-dimensional atomistic computational study
TL;DR: In this article, the influence of substrate temperature on column tilt angle, average layer density, compactness, surface roughness of columnar TiN thin films was studied by varying the inclination angle α of the substrate from 5° to 85° with respect to the centerline of the source.

Nanocolumnar TiN thin film growth by oblique angle sputter-deposition : Experiments vs. simulations
Boudjemaa Bouaouina,Cédric Mastail,Aurélien Besnard,Rubenson Mareus,Florin Nita,A. Michel,Gregory Abadias +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, the influence of the angular distribution of the incoming particle flux on the resulting film morphology (column tilt angle, porosity, surface roughness) was studied by varying the inclination angle α of the substrate at two different working pressures, 0.3 and 0.5
