Carfilzomib, lenalidomide, and dexamethasone in patients with relapsed multiple myeloma categorised by age: secondary analysis from the phase 3 ASPIRE study.
Meletios A. Dimopoulos,A. Keith Stewart,Tamás Masszi,Ivan Spicka,Albert Oriol,Roman Hájek,Laura Rosiñol,David A. Siegel,Georgi Mihaylov,Vesselina Goranova-Marinova,Péter Rajnics,Aleksandr Suvorov,Ruben Niesvizky,Andrzej Jakubowiak,Jesús F. San-Miguel,Heinz Ludwig,Antonio Palumbo,Mihaela Obreja,Sanjay K. Aggarwal,Philippe Moreau +19 more
TL;DR: Carfilzomib‐lenalidomide‐dexamethasone has a favourable benefit‐risk profile for patients with RMM, including elderly patients ≥70 years old.

Prophylactic low-dose aspirin is effective antithrombotic therapy for combination treatments of thalidomide or lenalidomide in myeloma
Ruben Niesvizky,Deborah Martínez-Baños,Jessica Jalbrzikowski,Paul J. Christos,Jessica R. Furst,Maria Teresa De Sancho,Tomer M Mark,Roger N. Pearse,Madhu Mazumdar,Faiza Zafar,Karen Pekle,John P. Leonard,David Jayabalan,Morton Coleman +13 more
TL;DR: Low-dose aspirin appears to reduce the incidence of thrombosis with these regimens, and routine use of aspirin as antithrombotic prophylaxis in MM patients receiving immunomodulatory drugs with corticosteroids is warranted.

Survival Effect of Venous Thromboembolism in Patients With Multiple Myeloma Treated With Lenalidomide and High-Dose Dexamethasone
Maurizio Zangari,Guido Tricot,Latha Polavaram,Fenghuang Zhan,Ashlie Finlayson,Robert Knight,Tommy Fu,Donna M. Weber,Meletios A. Dimopoulos,Ruben Niesvizky,Louis Fink +10 more
TL;DR: Patients with MM treated with lenalidomide and high-dose dexamethasone who developed a VTE did not experience shorter overall survival or time to progression and were not observed to receive prophylactic anticoagulation.

Biology and treatment of multiple myeloma
TL;DR: A number of cytokines, including TNF alpha, IL-1 and IL-6 have been found to play a central role not only in the biology of the malignant clone but also in the bony and other systemic manifestations of this disease.

Carfilzomib-dexamethasone vs bortezomib-dexamethasone in relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma by cytogenetic risk in the phase 3 study ENDEAVOR
W. J. Chng,W. J. Chng,H. Goldschmidt,Meletios A. Dimopoulos,Philippe Moreau,Douglas E. Joshua,Antonio Palumbo,Thierry Facon,Heinz Ludwig,Luděk Pour,Ruben Niesvizky,Albert Oriol,Laura Rosiñol,Aleksandr Suvorov,Gianluca Gaidano,Tomas Pika,Katja Weisel,Goranova-Marinova,Heidi H. Gillenwater,Nehal Mohamed,Shibao Feng,Sanjay K. Aggarwal,Roman Hájek +22 more
TL;DR: A preplanned subgroup analysis of ENDEAVOR found that Kd was superior to Vd in relapsed or refractory MM, regardless of cytogenetic risk.
