AbstractIn the existing paper, thermo-mechanical buckling performance of three-layered advanced fluid-infiltrated porous shells that are embedded between two GPLs-reinforced composite layers is investigated. The influence of the fluids in the pores is investigated using Skempton coefficient. Imperfection types and ratio effects are also considered. Moreover, for the face layers, Graphene nanoplatelets (GPLs) weight fraction and dispersion patterns are studied. After deriving the governing equations employing virtual displacement method, they are solved analytically via Navier’s approach. Thermo-elastic buckling behaviors of advanced fluid-infiltrated porous shells integrated with GPLs-reinforced nanocomposite patches

Magneto-electro-elastic (MEE) materials are widely used in the aviation and spaceflight area, attributed to magneto-electric coupling effect of MEE materials which can achieve mutual energy conversion in complex physical fields. This article takes the imperfect MEE plate as the research object to explore the nonlinear low-velocity behaviors, and the influence of multiple physical fields such as electric, magnetic and temperature fields are taken into account. Based on Maxwell's equations and first-order shear deformation theory (FSDT), the constitutive equation of MEE plate is obtained, and the nonlinear motion equations are derived using the Euler-Lagrange principle. Subsequently, with the aid of the Galerkin method, the ordinary differential equations are obtained by discretizing the partial differential equations. Then the low-velocity impact problem is solved using the Runge-Kutta method. Finally, the impacts of unknown factors upon the dynamic behaviors of the MEE plate are illustrated particularly. It can be found that the magnetic and electric potentials have opposite effects on the impact displacement of the plate, and the MEE plate with the lowest volume fraction of BaTiO3 has the smallest center displacement and the shortest contact time, but has the maximum contact force. 

Nonlinear low-velocity impact of magneto-electro-elastic plates with initial geometric imperfection

In order to theoretically research the tooth surface maximum contact stress of a Cylindrical Gear with Variable Hyperbolic Circular-Arc-Tooth-Trace (VH-CATT), the computing formula of maximum contact stress of VH-CATT cylindrical gear is investigated according to Hertz formula in this paper. Insufficient contact fatigue strength will lead to pitting corrosion, plastic deformation of tooth surface and other damages. Therefore, the maximum contact stress of tooth surface must be carried out. The contact stress calculation formula is particularly considering the effect of normal force, total carrying length, synthetical curvature radius, and position angle. The present work establishes analytical solutions to research the effect of different parameters for the contact stress of VH-CATT cylindrical gear incorporating elastic deformation on the tooth surface, and which have shown that the different module, transmission ratio, pressure angle, tooth width, and the cutter head radius have a crucial effect on the contact stress and contact ellipse of VH-CATT cylindrical gear along the tooth width direction. Moreover, a finite element analysis is carried out to verify the correctness of the theoretical computing formula of contact stress of VH-CATT cylindrical gear. By contrast with the theoretical calculated value and the stress value of finite element analysis, its error is very small. It is indicated that the derived formula of contact fatigue strength of VH-CATT cylindrical gear has high accuracy and can accurately reflect the real contact stress value of tooth surface, which is beneficial for research on tooth break reduction, pitting, wear resistance and fatigue life improvement of the VH-CATT cylindrical gear. The study results also have a certain reference value for the design and check calculation of the VH-CATT cylindrical gear.

Analytical Calculation of the Tooth Surface Contact Stress of Cylindrical Gear with Variable Hyperbolic Circular-Arc-Tooth-Trace

Nonlinear transient response of magneto-electro-elastic cylindrical shells with initial geometric imperfection

Analysis of the electromechanical-size-dependent bending of piezoelectric composite structural components with flexoelectricity has been considered by many researchers because of the developments of nanotechnology and the applicability of piezoelectric composite nanobeam structures in Micro/Nano-Electro-Mechanical Systems (MEMS/NEMS). Therefore, the work investigates the size-dependent electromechanical bending of piezoelectrically layered perforated nanobeams resting on elastic foundations including the flexoelectric effect. Within the framework of the modified nonlocal strain gradient elasticity theory, both the microstructure and nonlocality effects are captured. The governing equilibrium equations including piezoelectric and flexoelectric effects are derived using Hamilton’s principle. Closed forms for the non-classical electromechanical bending profiles are derived. The accuracy of the proposed methodology is verified by comparing the obtained results with the available corresponding results in the literature within a 0.3% maximum deviation. Parametric studies are conducted to explore effects of perforation parameters, elastic foundation parameters, geometric dimensions, nonclassical parameters, flexoelectric parameters, as well as the piezoelectric parameters on the bending behavior of piezoelectrically layered perforated nanobeams. The obtained results demonstrate that incorporation of the nondimensional elastic foundation parameters, Kp = 2 and Kw = 20, results in a reduction in the relative percentage reduction in the maximum nondimensional mechanical transverse deflection due to increasing the perforation filling ratio from 0.2 to 1 from 199.86% to 91.83% for a point load and 89.39% for a uniformly distributed load. On the other hand, with Kp = 5 and Kw = 50, the relative percentage difference of the electromechanical bending deflection due to increasing the piezoelectric coefficient, e311, reaches about 8.7% for a point load and 8.5% for a uniformly distributed load at a beam aspect ratio of 50. Thus, the electromechanical as well as mechanical behaviors could be improved by controlling these parameters. The proposed methodology and the obtained results are supportive in many industrial and engineering applications, i.e., MEMS/NEMS.

According to APDL language of ANSYS, this paper establishes the ideal identity model of tooth profile and gear based on ideal tooth profile equation, and it gets the ideal gear profile in meshing period and change curve of maximum contact stress with position of gear meshing. The result indicates that the contract stress distribution of ideal gear profile presents certain regularity with meshing state of double gear. Gear module can not change the stiffness value of gear meshing; increasing the number of driving wheel can reduce meshing stiffness. Finally, this paper gets the curve of meshing stiffness changes with load. The result indicates that the effect of load on deviation and tooth profile and gear meshing is larger than that on idea tooth profile and stiffness of gear meshing.
